This is disgusting. Leaves cant purify bodies like water does and what about all the dirt in the hair. Whats that gross intestine like thing on their head? Poor women tribes like this should go extinct so that nobody suffers

i find it quite clever how they found a way around a lack of bathing, especially in the conditions that they live in. if i couldn’t bathe then smoking baths would be the last thing I’d think of 😭

I really respect the culture of every single tribe in this good Earth. However this unsanitary practice cannot be appreciated, with the excuse that it is part of tradition! The scented smoke covers the odor but what about bacteria? In addition you cannot claim that this tribe respects environment while their men take a bath and waste water whenever they want. Women clearly carry the drought on their back as a burden for their whole life. A true man would keep himself dirty and give his water to his wife. Simply another example of inequality against women.

It sounds like a variation on the sauna approach and it obviously works very well.

What about menses blood?

When you drive by car in Namibia on the C35 from Khorixas to Henties Bay you see many Himba women along the road waving for tourist cars to stop. In fact they are after your money (e.g. if photographed) and if you don´t buy anything or leave some money there, they will get very unpleasent. So tourists are warned NOT to stop and get into conversations. You may also see some small villages with their typical huts. Due to the money from the tourists they do now less farming and buy meat or vegetables. Everything not so romantic and such an idyll as the video seeks to pretend.

They are not allowed to bathe? Why? So that means they can if they want to.

See, this is why some black men and women are single. They think like the slave master taught them too. Here, these women and men work with nature and likely smell better then some in USA who water bath in fluoride ,and poop recycle water every day.
