I sort of think that Mojang should change the way enchanting works. It’s either this RNG-based system that requires a huge xp farm and a ton of time or you have to deal with villagers.

NOTE: Netherite gear has a much higher enchantability than diamond, so if you can it's best to upgrade to netherite before enchanting for higher chance of multiple/stronger enchants through the table and cheaper additions.

What kind of xp farm was that? Piglin? Farm in the nether? That looks tough

I like to have a silk and fortune 3 hoes. Silk touch axe (incase I ever make a giant watermelon farm that isn't auto) Silk touch shovels. Really, the only fortune 3 that I get is for my pickaxe and hoe. Everything else silk touch. I don't want chests full of flint and as far as I know fortune on an axe doesn't really do anything. Maybe get more melon slices or cocoa beans, but that isn't something I'm interested in. If there is something that I'm just not aware of, do let me know.

I also recommend Smite V on the axe. Like mentioned before, it's a great back up weapon for the undead mobs. Also it's sometimes necessary to avoid sweeping edge. I also like to make my axe a silk touch. There isn't as many things that I need fortune for on my axe, but when harvesting melons they're already whole, I get incidental leaf blocks just by taking down trees, and it's nice for if I forget to bring my silk touch pickaxe and I need a silk touch emergency tool. I've also noticed silk touch on the shovel comes more in handy than fortune in case you come across gravel. Who needs flint after the very early game, am I right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the cost go down when you rename your tools at the same time you combine them?

Hey wattles, instead of despawning the swords, you can smelt them and turn them into nuggets. Not the most practical but still gives them a use, instead of completely trashing them🤷

Fishing is a great way to get great enchanted books... And OP bows too. Selling fish to villagers is another bonus.

I'd go for fortune on the shovel because with silk touch you can't get clay balls.

Wattles, you have a skeleton farm. You have an infinite supply of arrows. You’re not gonna run out. Why go for infinity when you can do mending and just carry a stack of arrows at a time?

I just wanna say, if you're using tipped arrows and actively enjoy using tipped arrows, infinity on your bow means nothing, if I'm remembering correctly, because you use up tipped arrows regardless of the fact that you might have infinity on your bow. In this instance, mending is the way to go.

In any other instance, though, infinity always.

Fortune on a hoe doesn't make you many apples or saplings I've tested it😔😔

Actually, better tools have LOW enchantment values, so the stronger the tool or armour is, the worse the enchantments are gonna be on the table, this is done to prevent OP gear being easy to access

I play on 2 minecraft networks by the same owners where there can be infinity and mending on the same bow but you need to get it from a kit using a command called /kit and you need a rank that matches the kit or someone has to give the bow to you, you cant manually put infinity and mending on the bow together in an anvil just like vanilla minecraft

Why do you enchant prior to upgrading your tools and weapons to Neatherite? Can’t you enchant after you upgrade it if it has a higher value?
