Good teaching! Very useful technique!
ОтветитьHello Dave, I do a lot of dodge and burn using many of the techniques you presented on TK Friday but I never tried to lower - flow. This video demonstrated you can have better control of the d&b process by reducing flow. Thank you for this video.
ОтветитьHi Dave: Another very informative video. Thanks for creating and sharing. Keep well. . . Keith
ОтветитьThanks Dave, this is an important and insightful lesson and I appreciate you sharing these dodge and burn techniques and explaining the importance of using the appropriate blend mode for each.
ОтветитьWould you mind clarifying why you used two different blend modes? Also, it appears you started with “Soft Light” for burning and “Overlay” for dodging then switched when you started your demonstration. I’ve struggled with dodging and burning…I’m going to try your technique. Thanks for a great informative video.
ОтветитьFantastic vid, I like that you don't go too fast, explain things clearly and show keyboard shortcuts that you are using. Thanks
ОтветитьAnother excellent video Dave. Your recent dodge/burn tutorials have really given us so many choices. Thank you!
ОтветитьHi Dear Dave all of your video is great , But i want to now how can I make before/after action in my action Panel ?
ОтветитьYou are the master of dodging and burning, Dave. Changing the blend modes and using flow adjustments makes these tools so much more subtle and beautiful.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьBecause I watch all your tutorials, I mostly use the Dodge and Burn as set up by the TK panel. Add in your excellent explanation of opacity and flow, I feel like my dodging and burning will be both more subtle and more effective. Thanks Dave!!!
ОтветитьDave, Any thoughts on a different brush style other than a round circle for D&B? Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks Dave
ОтветитьIt really help me understand the difference between Flow and Opacity. With this tuto I will have more tool to use more often the dodge and burn technique
ОтветитьBasing off this technique, how could you then emulate the Shadows/Midtones/Highlights targeting control with PS's inbuilt Dodge and Burn tool? Blend If, maybe?
ОтветитьExcellent video Dave. Learned alot...thank you for great videos
ОтветитьThanks Dave for showing more options when it comes to dodging and burning. I stumbled across the fact that if you want to change opacity between 0 and 10% you can also just press 0 followed immediately by 1 for example to get 1% so no need to hold down the zero key
ОтветитьThanks Dave. You have provided some really good tips. I like the opacity with flow method myself as it seems you have more control.
ОтветитьHi Dave, I have been watching this video and the TK Friday one on Dodging & Burning. With the Wacom tablet in this video (Master the Art of Dodge and Burn in Photoshop: Brush Opacity and Flow Techniques) you set the Flow of the Brush to 1%. I have never seen you do this in the TK Friday videos (maybe I am wrong). Is there a reason for this?
ОтветитьI can hit the right side of the burn button on the TK8 panel and get a transparent layer like you are explaining. The left side gives me a 50% grey layer. When do I want a transparent layer , and when do I want a 50% grey layer?
ОтветитьThanks for the great video on dodging and burning Dave. Another tool I find useful is the fade tool found under the edit menu. This only affects your last brushstroke. It allows you to change the opacity of that final brushstroke for both opacity and flow. It also works with other tools, such as clone stamp, and the healing brush.
ОтветитьIt’s so lovely to understand everything you say Dave, as a Spanish speaker, for me this is crucial. I learnt english when I was at school, (kind of 40 years ago!) So, I truly appreciate your clarity. Pls, never forget that international people may also watch you! Lots of blessings for you and the family, Daniela, from Uruguay.
ОтветитьThanks Dave, you are the best!!
ОтветитьThank you very much!💞👍
ОтветитьAn absolute brilliant tutorial in this field! (Ha,ha)
ОтветитьBrilliant.Thank you.
ОтветитьVery good Explanation / Introduction to the topic. Many thanks
