May I also add a tip on getting cash in Barcelona -- Banks charge a variety in fees - some charge absolutely Zero ATM fees to foreign cards holders and some charge ridiculously high fees. So its an important cost consideration when travelling there. Found an app for this - ATM Fee Saver - it gives a list of fee-free and lower fee ATMs along with their withdrawal limits. Boy, it was soo helpful! landed up saving so much on ATM fees. Worth adding to your list, it will help a lot of international travellers!

Where is best place to stay if we want to walk to everything in area

I would just apply the same common sense / awareness around security as I would in any large city around the world, be it London, Rome or Cairo. As for trying not to look like a tourist in Barcelona that’s impossible for us with our milk-bottle white skins and ‘holiday clothes’ 😄

I appreciate this information. I was in Berlin and paris i July and booked Barcelona for October. I find not looking like tourist helps. Walk like you know where you are going . Securing your valuables is a practice to use no matter where you travel. Thank you

I'm planning on going to Spain later in the year. I had in mind to go to Madrid, Seville and Barcelona. It would only be for 10 days. Was looking at 3 days each in Madrid and Seville and then 4 days in Barcelona. What are you thoughts? Should I do 3 places or should I do 2 and spend more time in Barcelona? Thanks in advance! I got my wallet taken on the metro. I'm pissed but I won't demonize a city because I let my guard down. Honestly it super affordable, being Cuban American the people tend to look down on us, and the fact that we can jump from Spanish and English seems to bother them. Also, buy tickets to ParcGuell we showed and were turned away. Btw if you want to go to Costa Brava pay the extra fee for a high velocity train. The locals call the regular train, "el train de todo la vida."

It isn't. Street crime is out of control there and has been for a while. Best to see the highlights and get the hell out of there and enjoy a small town somewhere, or cities in Asia where there is no street crime.

Me and my girlfriend are comming in June to Barselona and after that to Valencia in thah same trip. What are the 2-3 beaches that are best around these two towns? Usually the city beaches are not so spectacular so we can stay near the town for two nights if there is a better beacher that is great
