I have nothing against Aubrey Kate, but I can see what you were trying to do, and the way she answered that question seemed aimed at reinforcing the belief that children know exactly what they want. You asked her when she transitioned, and she said she knew at the age of four because she always wanted to play with girls wear certain clothes, like the colour pink, do gymnastics on the beam, etc. But here's the thing: I doubt she genuinely remembers in detail what she did at the age of four but rather she was told. Most people don’t remember everyday events from that young age unless something significant or memorable happened. For example, my 12-year-old niece didn’t remember something she used to do at five when I told her about it, saying she was too young to recall, and she doesn't remember every single day in details and she is twelve and Kate is 32.

The point is that unless something notable happens—like a joyful occasion, a special birthday, or an unexpected visit from a family member—people don’t tend to remember ordinary days in detail, it just the way the human brain organises memories. If every day is the same, there’s little to differentiate or recall perfectly. Now, the way Kate answered made it seem as though children know they’re trans from a very young age, as she claims to have known at four. But the reality is that this isn’t true, ask any trans people and they will tell you they knew as young as four but if you push a little deeper then they will tell you their mum used to tell them, if you doubt what I have checked out the interview Candance did with a trans-woman and another black guy who name I don't know, and their are many like that. People aren’t going to allow children to transition at such an early age, and this frustration with the issue is one of the reasons people voted for Trump, as he promised to stop children transitioning.

I think a lot of the fear and hate towards the trans community comes from a lack of interaction. Interviews like this are valuable because it reminds everyone these are people just like you and me.
