I'm actually not expecting Arsenal to do any business this January, I feel like the summer will be magical though

The only realistic signing would be Oshimen for 60-65 mn. That would be the best signing in recent years given our struggles up top. However the board always have a history of leaving us short when we need a player the most. It took us donkeys years to sign a dm in Rice when we needed a player like him a decade back in kante at the time. Even a monkey could spot that. Sonnot hoping for anything

We will only challenge to finish in the top 4 this season. That's the harsh and sad reality of where we r at this point in time.

I forgot when I commented, but from what I keep reading, Luiz could be a loan option. I'd do that, but I bet Villa is all over it if true. I'd focus on getting rid of jesus after Christmas 😆

If you’re using words like “no excuses” then the only player that currently applies to is Rashford. Every player you’ve mentioned is far from a straightforward signing in January.

With transfers, does the football world explore 6 month loans with obligations to buy?
We need depth & quality, if we can’t afford in this financial year, the obligation money would be counted in 2025?

105 million fridge. Doesn't make a 5 feet forward pass. Offers nothing in the middle. No through ball, one two, triangle, attacking the edge of box, goals from outside box. Nothing. Always side and back. Doesn't beat a single man. Disconnects the whole fluidity. Saliba avoids passing to Rice due to constant back pass. Such a coward and ruins the whole team coz of low IQ.

I would try and offload Rice for Reo Hatate (Celtic) and Stephan Bejavic (Liverpool) for DM position. Cost wouldn't be too high but trust me we are getting highly intelligent ballers with so much BALLS and would simply take us to elite level. Rice is simply not worth 105 million. Lazy scouting and it's cost us time and time again. If you pay 105 million and say he ain't that type of player .. what.. passing a ball forward is football

I trust Merino more than I trust Rice. He is a true footballer who understands game and takes risks and plays the game. He is also a killer in box if the players are able to find him in box and pick up his runs. Partey will. Rice simply won't coz he can't pass FORWARD

Kudus, Lookman, Gyokores.

Kudus is a wildcard. He can play anywhere.

Lookman would provide danger from the left

Gyokores will guarantee goals.

Long term:
Valles (On a free)
Hato/Yarek/Diomande
Nico Paz
Nypan/Saibari
Assane Diao/Godts/Santiago Castro

And a striker...FFS.

Who Arsenal will sign this window:
A: No one
B: Another Cedric.
C: The ghost of Marcus Rashford

Three unrealistic loans for number 9's (whether fee dependent or not) I'd like to see (at least) attempted from Arsenal:
1. Osimhen
2. Evan Ferguson
3. Kolo Muani/Ramos/Whomever PSG have leftover hanging around.

The thing that isn't spoken about with Osimhen is that he actually fits Arsenal as an elite presser and hold up option.
Arteta met with him and clearly didn't fancy him. I suspect because he's not got Arteta's (boring) ethos. He's an A1 maverick.

Leao lifts in big games and inside the system of AC Milan, basically in attack he's an inconsistent worse hybrid of Auba and Henry from off the left. If you're worried that he doesn't defend hard enough you're probably worried about the wrong thing. I'd be worried more about the price, which will make any deal undoable.

As I said earlier, Victor has the ceiling to lead the press, imo as well or maybe even better than Odegaard. He reads movement/coverage via air and ground as well as any striker around, he also can be elite at physically capitalising on mistakes. Think of a faster, better in the air, less fluid Jesus, more hammer strikes than fluid suffocations. Physically he shouldn't have any issues adjusting to the prem. The concern with him as always, and will be, is finishing. He scores from weird spots, areas you'd suspect Arteta wouldn't want him to shoot from and the flipside of that is at times he doesn't score from the conventional areas, think Darwin Nunez with less South American flair. He eats up so much ground running at full pace that at times things come too quickly to him. But like Auba, gets into areas very few can against defenders.
Could Arteta slow him down? Get him more consistent and balanced? I'm not sure. He doesn't seem to have "fixed" Jesus' finishing. I can both talk myself in and out of him.

Both can be "wasteful" and selfish, but there are five or maybe six elite forwards presently good enough to win games off their boot alone, whilst still at the same time being "wasteful" enough to get into areas with their raw physicality/instincts and score from out of nowhere. Isak is one, Mbappe, Haaland, Sesko profiles as one, Lewandowski was one.

Who I would sign is the guy I've been banging on about for ages Tom, and who I can barely pronounce, which I'm aware uncuts my creditability substantially.

Semih Kılıçsoy- His numbers aren't amazing this year at Beskitas mainly assisting playing off the wing with Icardi and Immobile up front, but from the five years I've watched of Arteta I've gotten a feel of what he likes in a player. Versatile, technical & relentless. Only issue Semih has is he's a bit of a short king at number nine, he uses dribbling and burst runs to get past defenders, which may not translate fully in the prem, personally I think wingers are quite portable into the prem presently, but he might project to be a man without a country as a worse version of a Julian Alvarez inside forward that would be better somewhere such as La Liga. So, it's a risk, which then again Arteta doesn't like.

How's this, long term his peak outcome is he profiles as a wide mix of Lautaro Martinez and Sergio Aguero. He's 19, would be a bench option now to replace Sterling, but can play second striker, false 9, or either wing. Presently I think he's being misidentified as a winger rather than inside forward at his home town club Besiktas, but would cost probably comfortably less than 25-30m. Or 15m if I was using Nick's pricing :)

Arsenal are letting perfect be the enemy of good.
Just as analysis of this season is slowly becoming the thief of joy.

Have a good one Tom.

Omar marmoosh

Why: plays for a bundesliga team not flush with cash. Tricky winger with exceptional set piece delivery for free kicks and corners which is good for us it also means we could vary our corner taker and get rice in the box for headers. I think we need a left winger more than anything else my dream would be vinicus jnr but it’s unrealistic in January

we can loan rashford and guller and buy a proper striker and the proper winger with the rest of the money in january. my pick is marmoush or el kaabi (depending on who gets kicked out of the europa during january) as our striker and lookman as our winger (because they are cheaper ). The price of kudus is very high I don't think Arsenal should break the bank for one player but also Tom, how important do we need a sporting director before january transfer ?
