Okay I guess I'm just an idiot? I couldn't follow along with this at all. You are speaking really quickly and introducing a lot of jargon I'm unfamiliar with in the first 30 seconds. I'm a total beginner trying to get into video editing, and this tutorial completely turned me off of even trying to continue

hey man i really love your tutorials, but i have a really huge problem:
my laptop only has 8 gb so i was struggling with the playbacks since the beginning but then optimized media solved that problem. now i colour graded all my clips and start with transitions but the playback is lacking a lot and not smooth. what else can i do? i tried this option with downgrade the quality and also with the rendercache but nothing works ... i really would appreciate if you would answer me! thank you in advance! :) Tom

Thank you for this!
Does this method allow you to easily hold the fade at a certain luminosity for a bit of time? Something Kolder does a lot

It's close but not quite the same as the cool kid's effect. In premiere, they achieved the effect by adjusting the fade white or fade black first setting. In Resolve, there are no such setting.
