I am not from Maharashtra but I equally loved Ajit Agarkar too. I feel we Indians love one player so much that we forget to respect others who are a big part of success as well. I literally felt for Ajit Agarkar at that time. He would get most imp wickets in a match and next match he has to sit outside to be a 12th man.
Even Adam gilchrist once said that he fears one bowler from India and that’s Ajit. If you see his wickets compilation even today, you will find some of the best deliveries ever bowled. And he could bat as well. You will be surprised to note that all of his records are superb on paper, fastest 100 wickets for any Indian pacer, fastest 50 runs scored in 21 balls(which was later broken).

Not taking anything away from zaheer Sir but the triad of zaheer, Nehra and Agarkar should be remembered as one of the best Indian pace attack team.
