Was Mass Effect as good as I remember?

As per usual, I messed something up lol. I refer to KOTOR II as a BioWare game like 2 times in the video, when it's obviously Obsidian. Go me.

The first time i played mass effect, i did everything backward

Doing noveria, feros, virmire, and finally going to rescue liara, which gave me the scene of her just left stunned about how i did in a week what took her 50 years to figure out.

Most of Mass Effect 1, I felt nothing. The final act was great, scifi-y and emotional, but the whole rest? I was just "yeah I feel nothing. please let this end"

I prefer the "enemy is everywhere" group of pirates over the "go go go" guys

Isn't Benezia the only character with larger breasts? I only remember Tali having smaller ones also. Think it makes sense to have both in the game but you seem to be especially prude. I know you address it in a newer video but weird how you completely didn't get the man's best friend intention. Also while it's monotonous with the loading screens, the problem is the port/controls, using just one joystick to move is definitely fine, although the need to be level is a problem.

Bru, games ALWAYS look better on PC. They might not run better, PC OSs don't always play nice with software made for console OSs, but they always have the graphics advantage.

PS5 has 16gb of memory. PCs have 16gb for dedicated graphics and upwards of 64 for system. High res needs more memory. Pcmasterrace

I pulled out my old ps4 disc of Mass Effect Legendary after 2 years and tried it in my Ps5.
I was shocked it had a 2160p/60 fps Patch and the speed of the load times .
It felt like a brand new game . So much fun .

The legendary edition still has old bug where the game crashes during saren's last fight. Basically if you use any hard cc biotic abilities on him (singularity,lift throw etc) the game will crash when saren is at 30% health.

It was particularly painful as i was running engineer class with squishy allies at insanity difficulty.

Very interesting fact i discovered lately in the OG mass effect: you can actually see Tali's face under her mask in the skills section, in 15 years I couldn't notice that at all!!

UGH, Ashley didn't compare aliens to dogs. Humans are the dogs in the analogy. She's afraid the council races see them as little more than a pet and when push comes to shove, they'll abandon humanity. She literally says "Members of their species will always be more important to them than humans are." She's not saying SHE ISNT RACIST, she's saying THEY aren't racist for being willing to abandon humanity.

I always hated the dialogue with Ashley when it comes to the boy wanting to be intimate with her sister because she straight up goes that she would’ve been as upset if he hadn’t tried anything so he would’ve been in trouble regardless which makes me kind of annoyed with Ashley for that weird double standard

This game serves as the bouncer to the Mass Effect universe. You know you want in deeper, but also that if you use the backdoor to sneak in without engaging the bouncer that is the side quests of ME1, you'll not get the best fun later. Good thing that the players way back saw the potential (unlike me who had the same path into Mass Effect as Salt did) and didn't screw this first one over for it's short-comings, likely stopping any sequels.

I liked the Mako sections. The controls were a bit weird but worked well enough on controller. Shooting was annoying though.

I’d actually love to see you play andromeda and see it in the same lense as you did for this video. I feel like Andromeda was the mass effect 1 of a potential new trilogy, basically a soft reboot on a new engine and everything

I just got the Legendary Edition on sale. So far I think I prefer 1 over 2 right now but I'm still pretty early into 2 right now

so weird watching a retrospective of a game i just finished for the first time and then hear many of my thoughts echoed back to me over the course of an hour. i played the legendary edition though so the experience wasnt really the exact same.

Tali felt like my personal choice of romance and not Shepherd's. Liara seemed like the more fleshed out romance.
