I do a similar thing for climbing french beans by useing the cardboard rolls from toilet paper they have depth for the roots and break down easy.

I assume this will also work with parsinps

Once they come up in the egg tray do you take the carrot out 1 by and then plant them in to the ground or do you just put the whole tray into the ground please

Using egg cartons is brilliant! My sprouts came up today. I am trying a small beet variety using this method too.

Great idea! I suppose if I’m planting in a large container I can cut the egg crates to fit then cover with plastic wrap to germinate.
