How To Two Step Dance - Basic 2 Step

Hey Anthony, Awesome videos, keep em coming until you don't have any moves left to share! One question for you, two step is quick quick slow slow, which should be 3 beats where as a lot of songs are a 4 beat count. I've had people comment saying they don't know how to dance to the music while doing two step. Should they ignore the down beats in the music?

Tip for beginners. Work on your peripheral vision. This dance is meant to be simple to allow eye contact. When you start you naturally want to look around so you dont bump other partners. You can learn to make those judgment calls and never break eye contact.

My wife and I love a two step, here in the uk nobody does it, wherever we go we’re the only couple doing it.

It would be nice if they gave a demonstration with music to make these instructions come to life. It's a lot of theory for the non-dancer. The music makes it come to life.

Why have i always thought the two step was 2 steps forward and 1 step back? Is that even a dance?

Wow really good explanation sometimes I get stuck going backwards and I always get stepped on

Two-step has five basic foot positions... and has two types turns chene and pivot turns.

Rhythm has got down and upbeats... two step is dance with four steps to six counts of music down up down down.

Maintaining framework the man leads from the diaphragm not from the feet.

Two-step is danced offset... meaning
toes and knees won't be bumping into one another and the guy will be able to see past her head on his right.

In Texas we typically would go;
quick quick slow,
quick quick slow,
quick quick slow,
quick quick slow slow,
or even quick slow slow, (depending on the music).

Would have liked to have seen you dance to some country music.

Very good , very informative. I learned key things in a short period. I’m brand new to two step. And this was very helpful.

So its not sliding your feet. More like a walk? Going on a country dance date and trying to learn how to get basic movements. So 2 step will work for like neon moon and the dance?

I enjoyed the video, but there was no music, so it was hard to really get a feel for the steps, also does the 2 step involve any swing?

What I see is the Texas two step. We here in Arizona don't dance like that.
