Thanks for sharing the tips, Heath. Coffee Shots by Prabh Nair is golden.
ОтветитьI've passed last week without any previous study or preparation.
ОтветитьI did in 3 weeks with full-time 10-6 job
ОтветитьI just passed the CISSP in a week using this advice
ОтветитьPassed today. Thanks for the advice and resources.
ОтветитьWhy do people want the CISSP?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing
ОтветитьThanks for you advise, I followed your strategy and took me a couple of weeks.
ОтветитьThanks man. I really appreciate this. I learn exactly the same way as you so this is a lot of help. I am currently a manager at a Gateway company but all the gateways are selling and getting bought out so its time to make a backup plan and add more value to myself. Thanks again brother.
ОтветитьSeems dumb that you can take it, pass and not get full credit if you don’t have the experience which obviously has nothing to do with the material/knowledge. Gatekeepy.
ОтветитьCongrats! I passed with 101 questions. The walk back to the front desk after the exam stopped felt like walking "The Green Mile". The style of the Boson questions are very close to the exam questions and was a great investment. I studied was the "11th Hour CISSP Study Guide" by Eric Conrad and it filled some of the gaps that I found in the official Sybex study guide. Kelly Handerhan's CISSP videos on Cybrary is also a great resource. If someone has been in the field for 5 years and is well-versed in the business side of cybersecurity, risk assessment/management, BC/DR, and then the technical aspects, it's possible to study for a few weeks and be ready to pass. Having your background and extensive certifications, taking a week to familiarize the style of questions and test methodology, it's possible to be ready in one week.
ОтветитьMany thanks 😊
ОтветитьThank you for the summary! I'm not the best reader as well, so it's good to hear that you can use other resources and be successful. I'm really weak on networking so I'll need a resource for the OSI Model and all those different layers. Otherwise, I like the resources you pointed out, and I plan to take a similar approach. Sidenote: I've watched this video a few times, taking notes, and I just noticed you were rocking a Mavs lid (blackout version)...Nice!! Mavs/Cowboys/Rangers fan all my life. AD-ATT - All Dallas All The Time.
Ответитьlol that shirt and where the video is cropped do not play well together.
ОтветитьCongrats on you CISSP! I would like to thank you for this guide on how you prepped for your exam. I did the exact same thing and passed last week, 2 weeks after starting my prep. Having said that, I fully agree that mileage may vary when prepping, as I do have about 6 years of security experience. Thanks again for the great content!!
ОтветитьQUESTION: TCM, I heard on Kelly H's training videos that you don't need to memorize any formulas (i.e. SLE, EF, ARO & etc..) is this correct? In other words did you need to know these (or any) formulas for the CISSP 2021 version of the test.
ОтветитьTook the exam in March, and failed. Studied on and off for a couple months, last 2 months I homed in hard to the point of burning out.
Quick background, I work as a systems admin for a small company. Been in the field for about 6 years now. During the exam I felt confident as hell, ended up doing all 150 questions with about 35min remaining. However I wasn't too bummed out because I knew I was answering questions in a technical manner.
Not sure when I will take it again but my main issue was not the material, it was not being able to "think like a manager".
I took a boot camp that helped me do it in a week (could have done on my own but going to a dedicated course allows me to push aside distractions). But one thing that helped me (in addition to the course ) was buy the Sybex official test questions book. There is a link in rhe back of the book to register for an online test bank that I felt was closer to the actual questions. I had the boson but I felt it was much more technical then needed
ОтветитьYou are correct. it is all about mindset. i have been in the field for a long time, but i was not in the correct mindset until i took the bootcamp. my instructor was pivitol. there were so many tips that seems easy, but not always clear. The bucket mentalitly was key.. if the question is in the C mentality and the answers are not, then that is not the answer.. so many others. I read each question at least 8 times to ensure that i was reading it with the correct intent. and like you i was clueless as to my performance until the lady handed me the printout. by the way i went to 150
ОтветитьGlad I found this page. Going for my CASP first then the CISSP. Thanks a ton.
ОтветитьThanks, Heath for this vlog! This was very informative and also gives me some hope regarding study material and whenever I do get ready to take the exam/
ОтветитьThank you. This is really helpful. Thanks for helping me get more sources.
ОтветитьSo only the practice questions and the bootcamp video? No books at all?
ОтветитьThank you for the info!
ОтветитьFull of shit.
ОтветитьI really like your new background! Thanks for the video super informational!
ОтветитьCongrats on the CISSP
ОтветитьSomehow for an entry level pen tester role it’s required to have CISSP. Like how is Ceh, GWAPT, Sec+ and OSCP certified not enough to get an entry level pen tester job?
ОтветитьCongratulations! I passed CISM in one week, that's normal, but passing CISSP in one week, that is not easy.
ОтветитьCongrats! You're an inspiration to me. I'm just starting cybersec self-study, after 10+ yrs in investment banking, then 3 yr gap due to health issue. had FH exposure to risk mgmt also, building out the group, but in finance not IT. Keep ruminating where to focus, but I'm absorbing all of the resources I can. Thank you for what you do.
ОтветитьThanks for the shout out! -Pete 👍
ОтветитьJust started my CISSP journey last week.
I am using Pete Zerger and Kelly Handerhan. I was told about Boson because my friend passed his CEH with it.
Whats up boss. You are an inspiration. We are all grinding like you.
Ответить\o/
ОтветитьCongratulations for your CISSP🎉🎉
Ответить+1 for pocket prep. Used it to pass net+ and sec+.
ОтветитьCongrats on getting it done in a week! It took me two hours of studying a day for a month for me to pass back in 2020. For those already doing risk management, the test will not be as difficult as someone coming from a technical background. That's what the CISSP is all about, risk management.
ОтветитьOne week of TCM = 5+ years tech/business/security experience + 1 week. Now, go back and continue the preparation for the exam ;)
BTW, Congrats, Buddy! Good luck with QSA journey!
My love for you is 💯💯. Welcome back
ОтветитьBro, you've gotten fat, or should I say thick 🤣
ОтветитьThanks for the video! It was freakin’ great!
ОтветитьDoes your shirt say RAPE?
ОтветитьI don't know if she's still doing it, but Kelly taught the boot camp that I took for my CISSP back in 2010. She really knows the material and relays it quite well.
ОтветитьCongrats man✌🏻
ОтветитьCongrats! I take mine this year and am truly dreading it.
ОтветитьCan I take CISSP while I don’t have 2 years work experience ?
ОтветитьCongratulations and thanks for the inspiration!
