You can actually kinda play exchange of spirits rather good in gimmick marionett decks. I tried it and its ok, not broken but ok.

This might sound crazy but I'm currently working on Dark Magician deck to utilize this card with a few support cards like power wall and jar of avarice combo, dimensional fissure and necroface combo. But I'm having a hard time making it flow. Ughh. Lol any advice? Or does my idea sound crazy?

This is the card that Ishizu Ishtar used on Seto Kaiba. He almost lost because of this card.

Not sure if this has been discussed already, but I had considered adding one Exchange of the Spirit into a slightly modified version of Patrick James' recent Top 8 "Chaos Dragon" deck. I think it would be great to both screw over the opponent, as well as prolong my activation abilities.

gimmick puppets, for how much draw power and being able to burn your opponent for mid or late game

How could you leave out the most iconic moment involving this card? It was when Ishizu used this to crush Kaiba in the Battle City Duels quarter-finals. This is one of my all time favorite cards because Ishizu made it look so fucking epic. The fear on Kaiba's face is probably the fear that every opponent on the receiving end of an EOTS play has. lol

The card effect should go back to normal after all trap cards are easier to destroy now a days. I might be dramatic but the card was respected by good duelists back in the day even the effects of the Egyptian gods are just horrible at least if they were given the effects from "Yu-Gi-Oh ! Nightmare Troubadour" it would have been better. 


I think Konami needs me to show them their utter stupidity with a lot of new powerful cards that they should ban, even some of the new cards are more powerful than for example "Change of Heart" and "Monster Reborn" but they still in the ban list and the new cards you can have 3 copies of them in your own deck to me that is disgusting. 


The game evolved and that is nice I have nothing against the new cards but don't change the effects of the old ones and also half of the banned cards are less powerful than the new non-banned cards Konami that is what I will refer to as "UTTER 
NONSENSE" !!!!!


The game in the past was slower than now but it relied on good strategy and concentration but now you can get half of your powerful monsters in an instant. If I play now using the Traditional format deck VS an Advanced format deck the chance of me losing after 10 turns is as high as 80% that is crazy and still some players still say that the game in the old days relies more on power than now a days and that is BULLSHIT!!!

I think is wrong to have erratas. if konami wanted to nerf these cards then release newer versions in which their effects treat them as those cards.  that way if tradional players wanted to use the old cards then there would be no conflict. of course the new versions would have new names to avoid confusion. the problem with erratas is that traditional formats now have to follow it as this text replaces the old.

If you want to really troll, use temple of the kings, Exchange of the Spirit, Grinder Golem and Inferno tempest when your opponent's entire graveyard is monsters (use soul releases to get rid of non-monsters).

Any deck that mills.

Also if you didn't know, the extra deck cards return to the extra deck so you can return all that back and reuse the traveler of the burning the abyss cards.

love the fact that you always show the card that you're talking about in the background.

Dark World could possibly see use for Exchange of the Spirit, but it's not a huge possibility.

I think this would work in burning abyss because it triggers the effects of the ones in the deck when they go to the graveyard allowing you to negate effects summon other burning abyss in your deck and also allows you a second use of tour guide if its already in your graveyard.

i think it would good for volcanic since they go to the grave and you can send them back to the deck 

Lightsworn, Heroes, Satellarknight, Chaos, Zombies, and Burn decks running cemetery bomb or blasting the ruins

GG, Id like to hear why you dont think it'd be a good fit with LS. Deck out too quickly?

I'm going to be using this in a Vampire deck. Coupled with Armageddon Knight, SABT, Mezuki, and Vamp Sorcerer, I think it's possible to fill your graveyard quickly, then swap and use Mezuki and SABT to mill cards from your opponent's deck. Or use Vamp Sorcerer to flood field with powerful vampires.

Exchange of the sprit can be good in buring abyss, yang zing, junk doppel, and any chaos deck

Personally, I would rather run Localized Tornado. It gets rid of your hand too, but it's a free COMPLETE recycle, and if you're a player who needs that recycle, you can just dump hand to establish field, set LT, and activate it on your opponent's turn. I use LT in my Final Countdown deck(Yeah yeah, it's for lolz ;D) in combination with cards like Hope for Escape and Card Car

I think it would be good to side a copy for if you ever play a deck focused on running your deck out

How about an Exodia deck where you grave search, or really any deck that could benefit from grave searching.

I made an unlimited deck with all the best draw power cards, Temple of the Kings and Exchange of the Spirit. I would have also put in that "Reset the duel" jar card but it never came to mind :p

Let me clear this up. The card is unplayable now. 15 cards in both player's grave is near-impossible to pull off. And if you did, and paid the 1000 life points, what would it do? Shuffle your deck? You can't even adopt a Foolish Burial strategy because you can't get your opponent to have 15 cards in their grave. The card is dead. At least it was fun in unlimited.

Maybe infernoids

In pokemon we have a similar card called Lysandre's trump card. It makes both players return their entire grave to their deck.
It seemed like a bad disruption card at first, but people started running it to put all their power cards back.

When it comes to lightsworns, I look at exchange of spirit it in the same way I look at foolish burial: the odds you will get to play it before you mill it is slim to none, so why not just run another one of lightsworn to make JD easier, or add tech cards like plaguespreader zombie or glow-up bulb to ramp synchro plays instead. Might be in the minority here, but I won't run it.....but some homebrew guy working with Iron-chain dragon and phantom of chaos probably will.

I can see it being played as an offensive card in B.A against some decks

it would be the best in sychrons bc it sended everything in the grave back to the extra deck, while at the smae time u know what your possibly going to draw.

I believe BA could utilize this card late game. After milling off so many cards then swap it back and keep making numerous plays. Just a suggestion though
