New study raises concerns regarding nicotine pouches

I love that the government wants to crack down on Zyn while pushing for marijuana to be legalized… WTF!

Quit smoking 2 weeks ago after a friend of mine put me on zyn. It’s only been 2 weeks but I can tell you undeniably that I already feel better.

From somebody who chewed tobacco for a number of years then switched to Zyn probably 6 years ago, then to Rogue (so delicious) about a year ago......quitting the nicotine pouches i found much more difficult than tobacco. I have friends i got on Zyn (thought it was safer than tobacco and maybe it is) and they all have found the same. i am coming up on 2 weeks no nicotine and it has been terrible, my mood has been in the dumper for about 10 days. One of my friends switched back to tobacco pouches to quit nicotine and another just resorted to continuing to use nicotine pouches.

I am skeptical about so many of these comments. Ive switched to pouches to quit smoking, and i have, but im constantly using them. I hope to quit using very soon. Sometimes my gums are sore and my blood pressure is high. It makes sense that these are healthier than smoking but i dont know that long term use will be without consequences. I do know that the people who sell this crap make a ton of money and i dont trust them.

Im officially on zyn pouches. I don’t crave cigarettes anymore but sometimes I go through A LOT of pouches. Should switch to 6 mg. So I’m still throwing my money away on addiction. 😔 sigh. Just wish I didn’t need something anymore to feel “normal,” whatever that means anymore.

Who needs 7mg? I had 4mg gum once and I was laying on the floor at work trying not to throw up for two hours.

When I lived in the U.S., the highest nicotine pouches I could find were 6-9mg, I tried them and I still had cigarette cravings, when I moved to Germany, they have pouches that go all the way up to 150mg, the moment I popped in a 50mg nicotine pouch, I never felt the need to smoke another cigarette, it was amazing.

They are doctors, the willful ignorance is damming. If they read the tin they wouldn’t have to study anything. Lucy Nicotine (one of the brands they made a shoddy attempt to blur) has warnings on the tin that the product is not intended for smoking cessation. Later in the piece several misleading claims were made regarding chewable smoking cessation products (nicotine gum) that are FDA approved in 2 or 4mg of nicotine each. They then compare smoking cessation products to recreational nicotine pouches that are available in 2, 4, 6, 8, or 12mg of nicotine each. It is stated that the recreational products are often two or three times stronger without mentioning the actual doses available a statement I believe was made to intentionally mislead.

Smoked hookah for 7 years. Went on a trip to Vegas and didn’t have access to it. So I used Zyn as a replacement to help with the craving’s and haven’t smoked hookah since. It’s been two months. It does work!!

Crazy how the so called health professionals can't wrap their head around the fact that nicotine gum does not give users the desired effects because they are simply too weak. There's a huge amount of people that simply enjoy the way nicotine feels but want to avoid all the downsides associated with vaping and smoking. You learn in basic, chemistry, high school nicotine is just a molecule, no different than caffeine. It’s the combustion of tobacco or oral administration that can cause cell damage. Decent story but you missed out on discussing the huge trend these have become with high school and college students who may be using these instead of vaping or actually doing both. I guess no one cares about a new generation of people who are addicted to pure nicotine products, yet...

I've been using ZYN's for a couple of weeks now, haven't touched or thought about touching a cig since. Sure, I'm not rid of my nicotine habit but I'm 100% this is better for me.

Zyn turned against me after using them for around 5 to 6 months including giving me terrible anxiety, mood swings, and panic attacks and I had never had these experiences before then once i quit Zyn it all went away. I loved Zyn pouches at first and then they turned into poison. I went back to snuff and will never use Zyn again.

Been using them for years, use to smoke (yuck!) then moved to Copenhagen (yuck!) . This was a healthier, cleaner option. I do not smoke. In fact, I only use 2mg which is one of the lowest you can buy.

Smoked red Marlboros from 16 till 25. I’ve never thought I would be disgusted by the taste of a cigarette but after a week of using zin it’s almost impossible to pick up a cigarette. Imagine getting the buzz from a cigarette except ur lungs feel fresh and u can breath!!!!! Now imagine smoking a cigarette in an office or store or inside a movie theater!! They completely change the game by opening a wholeeee new section to enjoy a buzz. I love them as much as I hate them because of how addicting they are but at least now I can breath 🫤 (I haven’t smoked a cigarette in over 4 months I physically can’t I’ve tried and it’s just disgusting it’s some scary weird black magic)
