5 Things Honkai: Star Rail does BETTER than Genshin Impact

Gotta say, if this wasn't a gacha game; it would be the greatest Turn based RPG ever.

Personally I like turn based games. Genshin is fine but me travelling for AGES just to get to a boss or a dungeon is one of the most annoying things. Me personally I find it boring and monotonous.
At least in turnbased, I know what I signed up for, I can just chill and watch my team's performance.

One thing that isn't mentioned here is the ping of the game In Genshin I often times have to play with 150 ping that can get really horrible sometimes while in Honkai it almost doesn't matters since the game itself is turn based

Honestly both games have its pros and cons. And while star rail does many things better than genshin, the one thing that always makes me go back to genshin (and is also the reason why I even started playing it) is the MUSIC (thank you Yu Peng Chen). I feel like the overworld music in HSR is just so bland compared to the culturally diverse music genshin has to offer. BUT I will admit the boss music against Cocolia is top tier for sure. I just wish they had put more effort in the overworld and normal battle music. Knowing honkai though, I'm sure in the future they'll release more banger OST's.

I'm not gonna mention the open world vs turned based aspect of the games since that's boiled down to preference rather than something that should be compared of the two, but both are enjoyable in their own way :))

I hate how lifeless Genshin can be for me, as I’ve done pretty much everything. Yes, everything. All I do now is wait for dailies that are tied to hidden achievements and if I’m in the mood I’ll farm. But it feels like a heavy chore draining me, which is very sad considering the time, dedication and money I’ve spent on Genshin. Spending is fully on me obviously, but now I feel like if I quit it’s a total waste. The only thing keeping me from quitting is the characters I have and the scenery. So I hope Fontaine can revive my joy for Genshin :’)

I understand they can’t release updates too often as it takes time to make, but the filler events are just depressing. And don’t get me started on Abyss floor 12. I have almost every character with ton of cons and 5 star weapons, some refinements, yet I still can’t beat it in time. If I can’t do it as a small whale then I imagine it’s life draining for f2p players…

I all ready like it better than Genshin. There was so much stuff I did there that was so boring like trying to find the stamina items.

The fact that you can:

1. Far weekly bosses multiple times
2.Craft a costume 5* relic (even if it’s just once per version)
3. Not have to waste time grinding on multiple things to level up one character
4. Be given the chance to pick your 5* at 300pulls

Made me love this game.

another amazing point is you can redeem points for a 5 stars cone of base characters when in genshin we can only redeem for 4 stars characters or weapons or pulls

now clear memory of chaos with that f2p accessibillity

Another minor thing: Unlimited sprinting

I love the versatility that the game demands to have multiple team comps! It’s really fun to create teams for different encounters 😎

I love this game and there is so much progress from Genshin!!

I never want to play Genshin again after experiencing Star Rail. It’s just better in almost every single way and the free to play experience is just so much smoother and more fair at the moment. Being able to choose a 5* at 300 pulls on standard is huge given how I’ve done like 800 pulls on Genshin’s standard and have yet to get Mona who I’ve wanted since release. Huge W for Star Rail, good game.
Quests also don’t drag on for a Millenia. They feel much better paced and go quickly so doing them isn’t like a chore. I have so many unfinished quests in Genshin because the dialogue is just so exhausting.

im not saying genshin is bad but inbetween honkais genshin gives off the vibe of the miserable middle child syndrome lol. its not bad but you can see how many corrections they decided to put in star rail not in genshin

No battle XP is my main gripe, Gatcha xp grind system is just tiring

Five things Genshin does better than Star Rail.
1 - Doesn't have the ultra boring Simulated Universe. You have to go though loads of cannon fodder just to have 1 attempt at the boss which success comes down to luck or power as the battle system isn't skill based.
2 - Genshin's battle system is way better. Star Rail has the most simple battle system I have played or least the most simple one I can think of right now and I have played many turn-based RPGs. Also when it comes to menu battle systems I prefer the ATB system over turn-based.
3 - If starter content is anything to go by, Star Rail's future content is gunna run dry quicker
4 - Exploration and finding chests is obvously much better. The thing I liked most about Genshin is exploring new locations and this is the number one reason I prefer Gesnhin.
5 - Cones are really lame because you can't see them on the character.


Some things I like better about Star Rail you didn't mention.
1 - I like the fact that there are 6 relics rather than the 5 artifacts Genshin has. It means people's builds will be even more unqiue from other players.
2 - No ultra slow climbing.

Girl shut up!! Ofc HSR will be better in each aspect cuz its new there is a lot to do and its a turn base game like they need to make it better and easy to access like have u played Pokémon masters? Its a battle turn base game HSR is very similar in the way they gives rewards and QOL like all is there is pulls and playing the battles aside of the lore stuff.

Genshin is open world has exploration experience and liberty to do what in the world yes its has flaws hopefully they adjust it, bit idk feels weird u complains all these years about genshin yet ur money comes from it and then compare it to HSR is kinda lame each of them are good and fun in theirs own ways lets wait a year and see u crying and yelling over HSR!! Like don’t forget what genshin gave you? Fame and money while u acting ungrateful and bitter 😗

HSR is funnn rn, throw back genshin first week launch is the same, so fun and exciting to explore everything, and i hope it will be remain for long period of time

I quit Genshin cause I was overwhelmed trying to build my characters and explore the entire map, then inazuma came out and I was falling behind in progression of the story and i whaled for the electro archon and realized that I couldn’t even level her up to 70 with the rest of my team because I wasn’t in inazuma.. I’m just hoping that because I’m taking my time with the story that the game doesn’t jump way ahead of me when I finally reach the end of the current story or I’ll probably quit this too and wait for zzz

What I like about hsr the most, is that it actually feels like a challenge. In Genshin, if you had the proper team/build, you could slay everything. Well, almost everything, even without a great comp. Here, if you don't have perfect builds, OR the 5* items, you can still complete stuff, IF you're playing your cards right. It was so hard for me to defeat the boss at the end of the Loufu planet, because I was still early in there with my characters and builds, but I did it second try, after I thought about how to approach it. I didn't change my team, or make them stronger...I just built up a strategy. Genshin lately (especially the spiral abyss) feels like - if you have the numbers, you win. Here, you don't even have to focus on the numbers, you just need to focus in general, which is awesome. Or you could focus on the numbers, of course - still, you have multiple choices to approach things.

Mtashed, I’m having hard time maintaining genshin and starrail together. Wondering what’s your take on that.

what i wished genshin did was like how in starrail, the main character is with two others, but in genshin the main character just gets all the glory and is more like a power fantasy where the main character gets everything. In starrail, theres a nice dynamic between mc, march and danheng

One thing Honkai star rail personally does worse than Genshin- gives me E1 Gepard before I get any other 5 stars

Only complaint about F2P experience is that there is no 4*/free illusionary character and no 2nd healer for when you need 2 teams.

Genshin is an exploration game vs honkai why would they not create a more simple way to travel fast to a game that is linear? Have you all ever played any other linear games with easier fast travel? Many rpgs do it its not a honkai idea.Some of you all simply fell out of love with genshin so you go to tectone or this guy to complaint in the comments. Dont like the game then dont play it simple as that. Both games are great and different are there thing they could implement yes and thats about it. Genshin is meant to make you explore the world , also stop with the bs that the music is better on honkai they both have different approaches to music for gods sake.

We get half of a 10 pull worth of jades and a full standard 10 pull of tickets for trailblaze rewards genshin only gives half a single and one single
