How to Fix Stuttering, FPS Drops & High CPU Usage... for FREE!!

some games give me stutters, i.e palworld when I open the pal index and shows the 3d model of pals it makes my cpu go to 100% then if I close the index it goes backto normal, in dead space when I pause the game it makes my CPU got to 100% if I resume it goes back to normal, in friends vs friends sometimes in the hub I get 100 CPU usage, then again other games are just fine.

My problem is: in game pc use 30% CPU, 40% GPU, 50% RAM but i have drops from 50 to 30 fps... why it doesnt use more cpu or whatever to mantein fps?

I was using the 2 daisychained 6+2 pcie connectors for my gpu , i switched to 2 separate pcie cables, i didnt do it in the first place just cuz i thought why do i need the extra ones dangling around, i instantly noticed a difference in performance , with less random framedrops that shouldnt be happening on a 3060ti, thank you so much man

This is useful where some games don't have obvious settings to change the FPS. Most games run very smoothly and can be occasional with the odd game from lack of control on ray tracing.

Is doing it with AMD Chill the same as with Riva?

i use the frame limiter in radeon software. i tried the radeon chill like you recommended in another video, but when playing star citizen it doesnt work, i have stutters with radeon chil, with the normal fps limiter i have no stutters

I'm starting to think game stuttering is caused by AMD. I upgraded from a 2070 to a 7900xtx some of my games are worse like ghost recon breakpoint.

Nvidia GeForce Experience app, gives you the ability when new drivers come out to be installed clean. It also gives you the ability to overclock your gpu natively. (not much but it helps). CCleaner can fix windows registry issues which also cause problems at time with a lot of left over non-used registry entries. Windows startup apps can also be removed through windows 7-11. This also helps quite a bit. I always put no frame limit on my games. I haven't reached 300 fps in 4k on COD MW programs (any of them). I do notice when I limit framerates on most games to 60fps the 1% lows are lower than when I put the games in unlimited. If ya'll need help just ask. I've been building/upgrading comps since 1990 286/12mhz days. Even cutting cases with saws and mounting in home made watercooling systems using 12 volt fountain pumps from hobby lobby. A lot of forums give you goofy wrong answers to questions, because kids that "think" they know what they are doing give you answers. I just recently got my ddr4 4000mhz memory to work with my 11900kf....128GB worth. MSI said it couldn't be done, many people said it couldn't be done. I did it, it took me a year and many bios revisions, but I got it to work...for an hour stable...The memory controller on the cpu can't handle that much memory, but with 11 reboots and memory training..it worked for an hour LOL. BTW with a 1333mhz amd and a Voodoo 5 5500 card. I got 3rd place in 3d marks with my card back in the day. Gotta love those old chips with the exposed cores...I cracked a few in my day.

Every game I play my GPU (4070) is at 99% usage and my CPU (5600x) is always between 20-50% max and it stutters quite a bit

I just upgraded from an R5 3600 to an R5 5600 and I'm now getting occasional frametime spikes in games. I didn't do a clean installation of Windows 11 but I resintalled my chipset drivers and also used DDU to clean my GPU drivers and reinstalled those as well. It's still happening, I'm now wondering if it's either the new 23H2 update, the BIOS update I did beforehand, or whether or not I need to do a clean install of Windows which would be annoying considering you don't typically need to do that after upgrading a CPU on the same motherboard.

That's what I did and it works like a charm, also, Warframe which was running at 144 FPS without any drop seems smoother with this method, I just used the Nvidia control pannel instead of RivaTuner :) As you said, Framelimiter into games are shit, so I let the game push the max FPS with no limit, no V-sync and I limit it with my GPU

I recently bought a new Lenovo Legion Pro laptop and was dismayed I could never get my Frametime graph to give a nice stutter free line no matter how hard I tried different settings and limiting the framerate via the ingame settings. The stutter was quite noticeable in some games. Nothing I found online seemed to help.
But I followed your tip and now I have stutter free in all my games and the graph is a perfect straight line. Again, thank you...... liked and subbed.

i got problems again with driver i limited my fps to 60fps in 3800x and the stutter became worse mind you without the frame limiter i was reaching 178fps so i am not sure whats going on here could my gpu be defective or is there different drivers

I have 2 PC. On my GTX 650 PC which i use to multimedia has no issues with rtss with capped fps. Tried with Far Cry or Pro Street and works wine. But my gamer PC with my GTX 1080Ti has problem with that. I cant cap any games no matter what i try (other nv driver etc.) Any suggestions?
