Seagull 1963 Chronograph in 38mm or in 42mm - which model suits you best ?

I'm in love with it, I'm wearing it everyday. I wear it right now. Yes, 38mm seems small these days. But this watch made me realize how versatile and classy the 38mm size can be.

38mm definitely on your wrist size mate...
i'm 7.5 inch wrist, and i'd probably go 38mm... its more subtle and classy

In my research i found it's the number for the jewels on the watch but also they said the watch have 21 jewels on the 2 version ?

nah, it seems that 38mm version has less convex glass. 42mm glass is literally like a bubble, when 38mm glass is less dome. Am I right?

Hi, I'm interested by this watch but can't decide which size... My wrist size is 21.5 cm, so it's ok for a 40 mm as a dress watch (Lip Himalaya today), but something more casual like this one, should I go to 42 ?

I have a 6.3 inch ( 160mm) wrist I must go to the 38mm because I can not wear a lug to lug of 48mm or greater. I believe the lug to lug distance on the 42mm is 50mm which would overhang the sides of my wrist. The 38mm has a lug to lug of 47.5 mm which is pushing the limit for me I have other 41mm watches I can wear but the lug to lug is 46-47mm.

I couldn’t decide and bought both as well. I wear the 37.5mm original style more often. But I also have purchased other color variants. I love the 1963……

i dont know if this video is helping at all and i have near same size wrist. The 38 does look to wear large thanks to the lugs and its a handsome case and the "classic" one that i think fits the watch better. BUT the lug to lug on the 42mm is only a hair longer and though the case doesnt have the original look they really did well on the redesign and i cant say i dont like it, i just dont like it quite as much as the 38. Then you get a bigger dial to look at.

The 40mm ones that are out there dont really seem to be a happy medium as the lugs arent shorter to make up for the case size increase,

Though this isnt helping me so much i do see the 38 i slightly prefer looks real good on a 7" wrist and really doesnt look terribly small
