Cindy has a deep experience of Sierra Leone, gained while setting up many schools there. Sierra Leone has a complex past: a key player in the trans-Atlantic slave trade, a brutal civil war from 1990-2002, and Ebola in 2015/2016. The country ranks consistently at the bottom of the United Nations Human Rights Development Index. However, there is much more to the story. Join us to hear more about this remarkable country that captured the hearts of Peace Corps Volunteers who served there.
