I found Idaho to soooooooo much more friendly than California. They have the conservative attitudes, but they are very friendly.

OG Boise/Idahoan and I've commented a lot on your Idaho video's Briggs. The "we don't like Californian's" is more nuanced than what it seems. Yes, I will admit, I am a grumpy native that is sorta done with the influx in Boise. However, it isn't necessarily the fault of people moving here. There are so many circumstances involved with the frustration with growth. In the 80's Boise also had a "mini" California surge and then it stopped. It isn't just CA now but what ticks a native off more than anything, is coming to a State ignorant to their culture and ways and try to badmouth or change it. However, in the 80's the bad mouthing happened. With today's influx, I never once hear a CA complain about Idaho and I have made plenty of CA friends and co-workers. They try REALLY hard to blend in and change their license plate as fast as possible. I am surprised though that Politics didn't come into play on your list. It's very Red apart from (here in Boise) the North End which has always been more liberal. But it isn't a liberal like a CA liberal. It's more moderate than full on liberal.

Gf and I visited Couer d’Alene and Sandpoint this summer and drove away wanting to move there next. Love all of the outdoor opportunities and thought it had the kindest most welcoming groups of people we met on our Northwest road-trip. Seems like an amazing place!

Born and raised in Idaho….. This state is ruined at this point. It doesn’t really matter anymore, the imports have turned it to shit.

I moved from Chicago to the mountains in Idaho. The winters in Chicago are much worse, although you can go to Ikea. Idaho in the winter is magical. And if you like to ski (me) it is awsome.

Of course nobody wants to talk to you if you're from California. I mean, just look at what Californians have already done to their own cities! Nobody wants Californians to come in and ruin their state the way they've already done to California.

Beautiful state and great place to visit. but my number one reason for not moving there is the skyrocketing cost of real estate for anything decent.
