Beautiful. This movie also had another great Indian actor Balraj Sahni. All three of these actors (the Russian actor and the Indian actors) were fantastic. Padmini was a good actor and Bharat Natyam classical dancer.

Well, apparently as I stumbled upon this clip 2 yrs. ago. 1958 was the height of the cold war & nothing positive was reported about the USSR back then (I was also 8 yrs. old at the time.) I was surprised to find this was from way back then. During the late '70's early 80's, I saw some good Russian films at an art film house here in NYC

This is wrong. There were a lot of foreign movies, including American ones, captured in Europe and widely shown in USSR after the WWII. Then there were movies purchased officially.
