The 80s were not the PEAK of the phenomenon of music. That has not happened yet.
My own generation thought that music had reached it's peak in the 1960s and the 1970s.
And the people who were in high school from 1990 to 1994 thought the music of 1998 to 2000 was the death of music. Somehow, music is still going on...except that the music of modern times (anything after 2000) totally SUCKS.

There was something about this song that always appealed to me whenever I heard it on the radio over the yrs, so I thought I'd look it up on You tube and discover whose voice it was. I didn't know it was Martika!.... love this vid with the lyrics too. :)
