Soon all combustion cars will be banned, China told all politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic, aircrafts or industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China....:-( China also banned all kind of synthetic fuels or hydrogen combustion. Because these are not energy efficient)

I've got those same rockers on the T-bird SC. Magnums I think. Found this video looking how to adjust them. I think I have a valve staying open too long. It has hydraulic lifters so it's easy to adjust them. You just get the push rod snug and then tighten it down a quarter of a turn more. I don't know it maybe the ignition but I think its a valve staying open. I can't hear anything with the stethoscope. Going to have to go in. Such a pain to get to them though.

Maybe comp cams should do a video explaining their shitty imported rocker arms, and why they break.

It'd odd but it seams that all valve lash procedures are incorrect. Always adjust valves especially on a solid cam at TDC compression stroke . All engines have what you call valve overlap where both valves are open at TDC exhaust stroke. I've seen racers at the track adjusting #1 intake and exhaust then #6 exhaust at the same time. I had then go back and check #6 exhaust at TDC compression and it was way to loose. If in dought do a leakdown test at TDC exhaust stroke and both valves will show leakage.

At 1.08 the exhaust valve just begins to close, thus adjusting the intake. but the intake was allowed to almost fully close? When the voice said as soon as it begins to close.  at 2.12 the exhaust should have been adjusted, look how far it moved in the gap to 2.13 and more at 2.14  the valve is almost closed!    as we cannot see the lifter on the cam, which is the more accurate?

Dear summit. When installing comp cam magnum cromoly roller rockers to an LS1 will I need to change the length of my pushrods?
In also have a 227 234 @ 50 grind cam with 600 though lift and am using Manley nextec double valvesprings. Will going from 1:7 to 1:89 cause issues with valve to piston clearences?
Last question and realy appreciate your help guys. Can I still use standard rocker covers or will the rockers touch the inside of the stock rocker cover?
Thankyou for your support

I have aluminum roller rockers that are non-adjustable. They're a drop-in replacement in my LS6 in my C5 Z06 Vette. Do I need to worry about setting lash? It seems I can just tighten the single screw to 22lbs-ft and leave it?

I'm having a problem when I'm adjusting my valves. I will tighten the poly-lock to where I feel a drag on the feeler gauge, so I will then tighten the set screw. Same feeling on the feeler gauge. But then I move the feeler gauge and there is no more drag. What should I do to get a more consistent setting?

Hi i picked up a 302 small block ford and I noticed that the valve diameter for the intake and exhuast are slightly different, the exhaust is a bit smaller than the intake valves, but the exhaust valves have lash caps on them. two of them are missing, the engine hasnt ran like this or anything but is it normal that the exhuast and intake valve diameters are different ? and Do i need those lash caps? should they be on all of the valves, or just the exhuast ones to make up for the diameter difference from the intake valves. Thanks

I have a 350 with aftermarket heads with double valve springs and I just put a new hydraulic flat tappet cam in it and my valves will not stay adjusted. Some will be to tight and some will be loose. I also have poly locks and ARP screw-in studs. Could I have your input on what is going wrong?

So if my engine is using hydraulic lifters now and will be after the cam and head  install, will something similar to this still need to occur or does it depends on the parts in particular?

less lash gives more overlap, valves stay open longer more top end.

Therefore, the overall performance of the cam will be unchanged but the power window will be moved up or later; however you would like to interpret that! Thanks for watching!

Greater valve lash allow more top end or horse power ? Why ? You allow valves floating ? As i know the more valve lash you have the less valve lift you have,so the less air come in the cylinder. I don't understand.

Hi Tommy, Yes, hydraulic lifters also require proper adjustment; but use a different procedure. Feel free to call us on the Summit Racing Tech line and we can walk you through it! 1-330-630-0240.

Yes sir, you’ve got it! Where it gets tricky now is tightening the Poly without changing the lash setting. That simply comes with practice! Good luck! :)

Let me make sure i understand this. So basically to set lash you just make sure the valve of whatever rocker arm youre working on is completely closed (the lifter is resting on the base circle of the cam or 180degrees opposite the max lift point of the cam) then tighten the poly lock to the perscribed lash using a feeler guage to find the spacing?

Providing the poly locks are adjusted & tightened properly to begin with, there should be little reason to suspect they would need readjusted anytime soon especially with a stud girdle clamped down around them. Just to be safe though, check them after 250-300 miles!
