I beat this one yesterday lol its rather clever

With how the dead mans switch is positioned (one every other block) it leaves a lot of openings as the explosion radius is only half a block. You should be able to just stand in between the corpses and be fine. If there was a guard every block, it would be harder but still possible. Afrer seeing this setup, did some extensive testing.

The arc shield, or whatever it is called, EASILY beats this stupid shit every time.

You just need to grapple the ceiling above the corrosive cube and you’ll be safe

There’s a few ways out I think.

You can use arc shield and try going through the blocks, assuming they aren’t solid.

Put down a respawn by the Gen

Perhaps try to shield from the explosions?

I have gotten killed by something like this happening. How does the guard drop through the corrosive cube?

I think it’s patched, I did this at the entrance to kill HRV, nothing toxic like a maze base, just because I wanted to build a hardcore entrance with a secret path out back where the genmat is to make people facepalm and now after adjusting it I can no longer complete the guard action to get this to happen anymore

Yep I did that map, only way to make it is with the shield

It’s Genius but absolutely gross and will likely be patched in some form if it becomes more common. You need to block it or have a second life ready to go.

I don’t like the block items because it’s a “get out of jail free” card. You can be outplayed by a setup and still be fine. If You get outplayed the engineer deserves his kill.
