You know the funny thing I actually had to get my weapons permit using a VP70, everyone else got a Glock or a Beretta, I got a fuckin VP70, I don't even know why the company had it, They just took out a bunch of polymer boxes each of us got a random one and I got a dog shit piece of Fucked to the head engineering VP70, seriously it felt like I was using a pneumatic piston connected to a stapler for a trigger, still passed tho, funnily enough I never did actually use that license because I got a different job like a day before it arrived.

Ive liked the VP70 for a long time now, i think that if HK made a version that wasnt neutered by the DAO trigger it wouldve competed with Glock. I still think Glock wouldve came to fruition years after but for other reasons (trigger safety, button mag release, familiar browning action, etc.) but some would still prefer the VP70 for its double stack double feed mag, fixed barrel, innovative sights, etc.

A modernized one would kick so much ass 👑 threaded at the muzzle, thumb or grip safety instead, maybe even a one slot rail.

I remember back in the 80s the vp70 was 200doll hairs at the Baton Rouge gun show. I only wish I’d had bought 20 of them.

Technically his is the M model not the Z because he can attach the stock. Tho good luck getting your hands on that model.

I had a VP70Z back in the '80s as I suffered from H&K Hoarding Syndrome back then. The VP70Z is a model I don't regret selling. Trigger action was pretty bad, long and mushy if I remember right, but it was the front sight I hated. 18 rounds 9mm Parabellum was an impressive capacity back then.

Im a big M1911 guy, but damn, the VP70 just looks really great even if its not the best gun shooting wise. Especially if you got the military version with the stock equipped and that sick 3 round burst. Leon has taste.
