Sometimes I wonder if Arthas was still himself in his heart the whole time. A paladin who wants nothing but the best for his people.

And yet he was taken by the lich. Committing atrocities unimaginable to all the races, all the while feeling the immense shame and guilt in doing so, with absolutely no control over your wrongdoings.

That truly is a tragedy... that's in my opinion why Arthas may have been so grateful for his defeat.

I think warcraft was one of the first games that had mind blowing cinematics like this. Honestly I atleast thought at that time it was soo out of this world

hopefully a movie that's not gonna fall in identity politics, diversity crap and gender equality nonsense will be made. Just pure Warcraft lore without those woke culture crap. I'm glad and sad at the same time. Sad that there's no movie project in regards to this and glad as well that it's not yet tarnished by the modern hollywood culture garbage.

If Warcraft movie will be remade, I hope it's not gonna be under DISNEY!!!!

While the world freaked out about game of thrones, some of us sly smirked, knowing we experienced something far more epic than they ever could. Becoming the death knight, striving to become the lich king. This, Blood Omen, Soul Reaver, Vampire the Masquerade Etc. As a kid who LOVED undead stuff (probably because of ghostbusters), I was born in a golden age.

The cinematic where Arthes kills his own father i never could tell what The bodyguards were but i just realize that both of them are carrying different kinds of spears Plus they look like they have more practical gear on rather than the bulky iconic World of Warcraft warrior gear.

Kind of reminds me of Archaon the Everchosen from warhammer fantasy. Though Archaon is a lot more controversial because he actually succeeded in destroying his world unfortunately

Too bad we never got to see a wrath of the lich king movie series. I think a ton of wow lovers would see it. If it was done right I’m sure it would’ve also brought in a large crowd.

Arthas you were my childhood hero, my rolemodel also the first character to make me care about the story of a game. I will never forgive what the current WoW dev team did to you, I will recognize the sacrifices. Arthas did nothing wrong, he had to make difficult decisions without looking back, for the sake of everyone as a king should.

There's only one person who has a more sad and tragic story than Arthas does. And that's Anakin. Arthas deserves, no, he needs a movie series about himself from the beginning to the end.

Arthas is the only quality character arc Blizzard ever produced.
And, sadly, it's pretty much a Horus the Betrayer from Warhammer 40k, ripoff.

Blizzard hasn't done much quality writing themselves, they made great games back in the days but the lore for both Starcraft and Warcraft is very much ripped straight from Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K.
I will never understand how or why Christie Golden was praised so much for her writing, I didn't find it very appealing at all and honestly lost interest in the game as a whole at that point I think.. Nole solely due to Christie, but as I have mainly played the game to partake in the storyline and to interject my own character into the world, when the storyline got uninteresting, predictable or just confusing and contradictory - in combination with the deteriorating game mechanics, class balancing, simplification of gameplay and much of the progress narrowed down to endless reputation grinds - the game just fell apart and gave me anxiety rather than joy and pleasure.
Bobby Kotick won, he really took the fun out of making video games. Motherf-ing scumbag.

As great as the scenes blizzard came up with for WC... I'll just say they shit the bed. Blizzard was sub-par back in the day but better than the past 10 years and they just suck now... period. In the history dumps. the story inconsistencies is just shit. I think WC universe needs to be completely redone by another studio. Make it more realistic and add a horror tone to it. lol

The qualitiy of the first cinematics was astonishing for 2002... and I'd dare to say it didn't age an inch! It still holds up!!
