Outward: A Beginner's Guide 2022 (Part 1): A Complete Early Walkthrough

Here I am in 2023 just bought the definitive edition and watching this as I play along!.

How relevant is this guide for Definitive Edition?

I just purchased outward for my ps4 and this is amazing thank you so much!

I know this is "updated", I really wish you did another one of these for Definitive Edition -- highlight your approach to the game for the "new crowd".

I was wondering if you had any plans on doing a newer version of this for definitive edition? For anyone reading this the core of the guide is still solid. Just be as ready as you can be, as Comforts reminds us. Also if anyone has outward, with three brothers unless they stopped it. You can get a free upgrade to definitive edition. Which would net you soroboreans completely free as it comes with the edition. The reason I ask, is there's a few new surprises in dungeons such as the trog cave. They also patched out the silver exploit at the jail.

I just got this game and had a pretty awful first few hours, confused and struggling. After seeking help from the amazing subreddit and watching your videos, I feel inspired to dive back in and start again! So many little tips packed in to your videos and so chill to listen to 😁

Decided to pick this game up last week and was recommended your guide on reddit. I would have been completely lost without it! I didn't follow it exactly, but was able to learn the basics of crafting, how to save the guy on the beach, get a decent starting weapon (fang axe), the importance of using items instead of hoarding them (in basically every other RPG, I end up beating the game with loads of unused items)....the list goes on. I'm only 5 hours in, and the world still feels a bit overwhelming, but besides Elden Ring, I haven't felt this sense of exploration since Morrowind.

I have owned this game since launch and played briefly and went back to other games..really need to give this a second chance, have to add from what I recall when I did play was that lantern on your backpack I could never find out how to use it.

This game looks amazing, I've only just heard of it because of the definition edition that just released. I don't have a newer gen system or PC so I wanted to see if this is worth while on the XBox1. I'm seriously considering it.

Got outward, lost me house on 1st ever save, saved it on 2nd on me experience of just hunting and selling Hyena mats, made some money off the weird shite collector too

Great vid very informative

Something I've found that helped me a lot. (Note im still in the first area being a noobie, trying to survive.) But traveling at night is the best time to make your way back home. It seems you can see the lighthouse from just about everywhere on the map. So if anyone gets lost. Just find a place to camp until nightfall. Then follow the lighthouse beam back home.

Honestly i just randomly found these. Never heard of the game before i found your videos. You caused me to buy it. I'm loving the game. It's a bit different coming from souls. But super fun.

Game is good just had my First playthrouh with my brother but he left in the last like 20 % to end but still so much fun i will do in some time s new save cuz i noticed i just explored half of the map and there is another ending tho

Soo i got into the hero path conflux with just a halber and a whole loot of ambition and got my ass kicked, soo if you are new just get around the starter area until you think you know enough

I just came across this beginners series and I'm enjoying them a lot! I've been playing the game a fair amount but still have never left the starting map. As much as I've played I've learned things from your videos such as going to the starfish cave at night! That was a surprise and I'm glad you showed that. I probably would never have figured that out.

I'm not sure if you'll see this or not, but I could use some help on one item. I can't figure out how to use the Pistol in the game. I have it held in my hand, make sure I have at least one bullet in my pocket and when I get close enough to an enemy I press Tab to lock on to them, but I can't seem to fire the gun. What am I doing wrong? Neither mouse key will fire it. Maybe it's not loaded but I can't tell and I can't figure out how to reload it if it isn't loaded. I can't seem to find out how to use it anywhere. I hope you can help.

It's crazy usually I try to clear an area before moving on but never enjoyed this game until I left the first open area. It has really picked up in the forest and now I'm having fun for the first time.

Havent been able to get into Outward after having it for years but recently gave it another try. Couldnt find a decent guide that's not years old so thank you for doing this.
