Top 100 Games of All Time - 10-1

This is more a favorite games at the moment and not best of all time. Top games of all time would need to skew toward older, established classics and collective popularity and impact on the medium, not just what someone is most into right now. Like the BGG top 100 used to be… the cult of the new is getting in the way of an effective retrospective of the titles that have been most transformational, innovative, and most solid designs. Any “of all time” list should be itself somewhat timeless, without TOO much movement year to year. These all seem heavily slanted toward newer titles and changing tastes.

I get it… it’s subjective. But the top 100 favorite list vids are a dime a dozen… far fewer lists are even trying to approximate objectivity, illusive and impossible to truly achieve though it may be. Dominion dropping and then jump 25 spots? Dominion in the top 10, I could get behind, because it was a pivotal game that can take a lot of the credit for deck building games that came since. I’m more interested at this point in hearing about that than I am about why a particular review has gotten back into a game this year because of this or that expansion.

Played the hell out of Dominion back in the day. Then one of my mates googled what strategy to use and suddenly whipped our asses by not playing any buildings and just going for money each time. I go back now to see if things have changed and see that the "Big Money" strategy is still the benchmark and that people have 'diversified' it to be Big Money + Smithy, etc.

Long and short, Dominion was and forever shall be ruined for me.

Can you do a countdown for great games to gift.

It's really sad how many of these games I own and haven't played.

Dominion is not fun anymore, it's boring.

Streaming these is obviously profitable, but it tanks the quality dramatically

@Zee: Can you mix Pandemic Iberia together with other Expansions like On the Brink or In the Lab? Or is the original game only supposed to mix up with the expansions?

Oh look, they like more heavy Euros/card games.. Who'd have thought it!? Watching through this years top 100 reminded me that I am an Ameritrasher. Has Roy got a top 100 list? Bet I'd get a lot more out of it!

When I first watched one of their top ten videos ( i think it was games everyone should have)I thought "these guys are kind of annoying " After watching all of this years top 100 videos I'm disappointed that it is over and looking forward to more content with the three of you interacting with each other. Pretty painful to watch a live stream after with the superchats

I would love to see 3 women do their top 100 and notice the differences between the genders, and also a kids version of say 10-17 yo's. I'm new to board games and am in my mid 50s and a lot of the games they have are not for me....I'm not into competitive games, nor ones where I go blow things up, so many of the D&D games are out for me, which includes many games which sound great yet just not my style.

Since I am moving to Europe from Australia to be with my Mrs who doesn't speak English, I'm more into the co-operative game, easy to txlate and teach and play. Plus I have an 8yo granddaughter so looking for games she would enjoy (bought 8 so far and for now is more than enuf).

I have purchased, so far, mostly deductive, crime-type of games like Sherlock Holmes games tho have purchased some horror games as well, yet again, the co-operative ones as I believe competition in rships can be deadly.....I teach this as I'm a Relationship Trainer

So yeah, having 3 women get together and give their top 100 of all time would also be great

I've been recording these top 100's (and many top 10s) for several years now. I'm a game designer and get and play games to learn mechanisms and such. I have found that the games I got years ago, and still play (or plan to) aren't on your lists anymore--which is understandable as you have to keep up with new games being released. However, many others (including myself) cannot keep up with current gaming trends. A solution is to do a top 10 (or top 20/40) favorite games over a span of time (like 2015 to 2020). These lists would change over time but they might include several games that people still love and play, but have been replaced on the latest top 100 for whatever reason. Just an idea.

Are these lists printed somewhere?

I stopped writing the games down at number 6. You guys fell off a cliff on this video. Seems like it was so over thought that you guys couldn't see the forest through the trees on top 100 1 -10 and FAILED MISERABLY.

I don't always have a lot of cross-over with Zee, but Five Tribes is a forever game for me, I have played it over 50 times. It was one of Zee's reviews about it and the expansion that convinced me to buy it many moons ago. I bought the base game and expansion at the same time without having played it.

I don't like scythe and I feel like I'm missing out

The current superchat format is painful. Interrupting each other to say the names of people that nobody cares about is ruining the video. Have the spontaneous conversation about the games, and shout out at the end or something. I love these videos, but I’m considering leaving if this continues.

Love these top 100s! Usually I skim through them, but this year I decided to watch them all the way through. I was not disappointed!

One game I am disappointed didn't make anyone's list was Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective. It was mentioned, but man that game deserves a spot in someone's list! Also, would be curious to see what everyone thinks about Blood on the Clocktower.

It's funny that Mike chose "Go" to joke about it having minis, because the even more ubiquitous abstract game, Chess, always has minis and has a long history of people blinging out the minis.

I love seeing how people whine when anything Marvel comes up. Both United and Champions are amazing games. Probably both my top 2 games of all-time now.

Highest ranked games from 2022 that fell off the lists:
Mike: Wildlands (14 last year)
Zee: Cascadia (36 last year)
Tom: 7th Continent (24 last year)

Where was Dwellings of Eldervale on the people's choice? Did I miss it? And boy did Mike scare me, putting Merchant's Cove #3... Thankfully he cane back to his sense with his #1 choice ;)

I love the top 100s lists. Some of these games I've never heard of but I wanna check out now.
