Behringer Xenyx Q802USB Mixer Review

How do you connect this to a PC? I cannot seem to find information anywhere specific to this mixer on how to do this. I can't find an 800 number for customer service either. PLEASE HELP!!!]

My mixer board was working fine for a while, been using it to record vocals for music. But of late it has been making my vocals sound cracky and somewhat distorted. And I’ve noticed the 48v light is always on when I plug in the power supply these days . I need help

You listed three mixers in your videos my question to you is because I can't find one video and I've been looking for three days hundreds of videos all I'm trying to do is use my guitar pedals as effects to record onto my Tascam DP 04 so can I use the Mackie 402 vlz4 or do I have to get a Behringer q802 or the Mackie mix8 I'm trying to go in I only have two inputs and their quarter-inch on the Tascam DP 04 so when I record my vocals I can use my guitar pedals record Reverb directly into the Tascam Live While I'm singing I do not want to mix Reverb after-the-fact only live as well as guitar tones live can you help me please I don't understand all this auxiliary return and send and all that stuff I don't know if I even need it

Hi man! On the manuals they say the IN are balanced while the OUT are unbalanced. But some people says both ins and outs are balanced. How comes and what do you think? Cheers!!!

May I ask if QX1002USB opens FX reverberator to record, the live broadcast must have reverberation effect. If it is just recording, then is the finished product recorded with dry sound or reverberation effect?

Are you kidding me?? The led stays on for a while because of the large capacitor in the circuit. I cannot believe you would not understand this.

The phantom power light remains lit after disconnect as that circuit slowly discharges. The led goes out when there is no more power in the circuit. It is not a defect in the mixer.

loop the 2 track in and out via rca, phones button must be down, main mix button always up.....Then you can hear yourself thru the mixer and audio from the daw....zero latency multi track recording easy

Thanks for the review. The 48 voltage phantom power light remaining on is, I believe, by design. In the X802 schematic there is a parallel RC circuit at the switch. The values of those components are 1 uF and 20k ohm which would suggest a 2 minute capacitor discharge time. My belief is that this slow discharge time helps with any loud noise spikes that can occur if a device in the chain using phantom power is suddenly shut off or disconnected. When I use mine to power an active DI I've noticed that killing the phantom power does eventually turn off the DI when the voltage drops below the DI's internal voltage regulator requirements. The LED on my mixer is still lit, although very dim. Resetting main power after shutting off the phantom power circuit definitely bleeds off the excess voltage.

Hi Ray I do a online radio show every week and current I have a love / hate relationship with my condenser Microphone with this mixer. So my question is this. What is the perfect Gain / Volume and compression level should I have so in between songs I'm not sounding too low or high pls?

Does it come with the USB cable?

You said that you could use aux sends for Skype and the USB for your DAW. However, if you are using the internet without recording, wouldn't you hook in the USB straight to Skype, Webex or Zoom? I'm also unclear as to how you would hook in the aux sends to Skype since they are quarter-inch outs. Thanks~

Hello @Ray Ortega, I have a question please. Someone else told me to buy this mixer and an adaptor to connect my Wireless RodeGo mic to this and mix with music to teach my dance classes, but the mixer arrived and is not recognizing my mic... I had just spent $200 in that mic and now $160 in mixer and cables and still cannot make the mix happen (essential to get synchronous voice and music to teach dance class online!). Do you know why my mic is not recognized (plugging it in the line in connection on strip 1 or 2). My mic has 3.5 mm plug, that I put into a 6.3 mm adaptor and then into the mixer... If there is no way around it, which mic could I use that is wireless and goes into the XLR? I only heard of one option that I herd works and the price is like $270... Thanks for any help in advance!

Just noiced. When I add a mixer to my computer my sound volume wants to go up to 100%. The volume increases on it's own. Is there a way I can counter act that? My speakers have an exterior volume control as well so I have to set that as low as possible so my speakers will not be overpowering. I just wonder if it's a driver issue.

Really hesitating about the 302USB, 502USB or 802USD. I've finally choose a refurbished 502USB because of the compressor function. And also because I don't need all the 802USB functions. But I've seen many comments about the mixer overheating and gain noise. I hope it's not a bad choice 😅.

Does whatever is hooked up to the 'Stereo AUX Return" get sent directly to the output? Would this be able to be used like another Line In (without level control) as in the same way the '2-Track' RCA In's work?

Hi Ray, I'm having issues recording between my Behringer X1622USB mixer and Adobe Audition. Whilst the software is seeing the mixer ok, the input level from the mixer is not there at all and can't be altered via the controls. I'm getting output from the mixer to the headphones and speakers, I can hear the microphone through the headphones, but no signal is getting to the Audition software. Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed.

Ray, I just wanted to reach out and tell you that I viewed your videos before purchasing the mixer, and I bought a headphone amp which I used to split the headphone signal as you suggested. Works like a charm, and I will recommend a USB mixer to anyone now because of your advice in helping me set it up. (The amp I got was from Behringer as well.)

the phantom power is controlled by a capacitor internally so the light stays on until discharged, I was admittedly ticked about no master power switch, I would've appreciated a slider for main volume instead of the turn knob but if you don't need to frequently adjust your volume then it's alright, been using mine about a year and it's still solid

how do you actually plug in the fx send for mix minusing? i have my cell phone split so my mic goes into my output in the 2-track interface, my caller audio comes from my phone to line 3/4... now i don't know how to incorporate the fx send? where does it plug into and out of? im novice. thanks
