Question for you on the off chance you read these - no Ring of Sacrifice to preserve those 4 humanity from Seath death? Was that an oversight or intentional to save the 5K souls for some other part of the run's budget?

Can anyone give me any recommendations on when to make some save states? At which points in the game? Before every boss fight maybe?

I just finish my first no hit run on ds1 ...Now its time for DS2

I always just headshot The Channeler with the Feather Arrows from the Fire Keeper Soul so the chances of them being stuck becomes less.

there's only a single question with this still amazing acheivement (like mad good job mate), why do you balance str and dex instead of prioritising dex as the crystal halberd has c dex scaling vs d str scaling?

Hey Squilla great guide thank you! Few questions:
1) Why do you go through undead burg to get the talismans when you can skip them by killing the extra mimics in anor londo? Seems like there's no risk in killing those, but going through undead burg has much more risk with the jumping attacks being very dangerous.
2) Why do you kill the black knight in darkmoon basin when you can just run past him? Seems to be safer and way faster.
3) Why do you pay 20k souls to andre for the crest instead of just killing him? 20K souls at that point in the game is a lot of levels.

You are so good, I am a 70 year old retired coal miner been playing games ever since they first came out on the Atari 36 years ago and I played all the souls games and 2 is to me the best played it 4 times and 3 is to hard and demon souls will be out again on PS5, PS4 I got and I am playing ESO now but not as good as the sols game but a lot easier and I might go back to playing 2 again.

I am sorry, but dark souls is unfair... It is an unfair game. Every time you are facing an enemy which has a higher hp pool and dear much more damage. You have to beat such enemies and then get to the bosses, which are massive, deal much more damage than you (kill you in 1-3 shots) and have a tremendous amount of hp. You have to hit the boss many, many times before it dies, every time being faced with the realism that you are allowed to make far less mistakes than this enemy.


The game is not fair. The game is not designed to be fair. The fun of this game is not of it being fair. THE FUN OF THIS GAME IS BECAUSE THE GAME IS UNFAIR, that we, literal nobodies overcome the unfairness of the world.




I beg you, when you try to argue that dark souls is ''fair'', just stop. Change your point of argument to show that this game is great, BECAUSE it is unfair, but in a good way. Not in a broken, unpleasing, but challenging and demanding way.

A general rule of thumb that I like for O and S (and Squilla definitely touches on this) is always make sure there is a pillar between you and Smough any time that you would go for an attack; at least as you are starting. When you practice the fight a lot you will get more comfortable knowing when you can attack, but using the pillars helps make more opportunities.
