Best Advice for New Software Developers

Hey man I know you are a self-taught programmer, but you stated that you went back to school. Do you have an associates or a bachelor's or anything like that?

Do you think I can work as a programar while I'm studying mechanical engineer?

I dont like most content on you tube about coding because there is so many bs out there like be a developer in 3 months and so on, but this video is one of the best and realistic videos I have seen. It is so true imposter syndrome. Yup, just put it out there, we all start from somewhere. Thanks.

Is it easier to find a coding job in a big city, where there are lots of jobs, but also a lot of competition, or in a small town, where there is not much competition, but not many jobs as well?

Imposter syndrome is hard to handle for me, but I still do programming. I also want to socialize with other people, but I can't, because of the pandemic, Idk where to talk with other programmers?

I would estimate 90% of my projects would benefit from me just trying more solutions, even if I didn't understand exactly how they worked, and also documenting those choices and the reasoning behind them better. I think I would have finished things faster, learned new languages faster, and also gotten a broader understanding of how stuff worked. And by documenting all that, I would have been better equipped to make different, better choices the next time.
