Wow this is relatable.. but at this rate all old languages like many Indian languages will simply vanish coz the young generation is using English these days 😢

the written form of Chinese is more of an art form. it has not evolved like Japanese and Korean.

I say this all the time, but Chinese and Japanese Kanji is harder than alphabetical words. The locals just refuse to admit it.

I think the Kanji is the same for a lot of Japanese. That is ok, though. Most American's have a hard time with English. Lol.

This is why I don't understand why they haven't changed their written language yet. South Korea realized that their countries literacy was really bad and changed to a simple writing system and is now known to be one of the easiest languages to learn to read.

Written Chinese is fiendishly hard. To be fair, though, probably the average American you stop on the street is not going to be able to spell 7 out of 10 words.

I wonder if they can write the name of their country “people’s republic of China”. I had a hard time when I was a kid, and I am still not sure if I can write democratic people’s Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea correctly as Japanese.

When i started learning Chinese, i was clear on the goal that i can only speak & understand Chinese. Trying to be profecient in reading/writing is a waste of time.

Chinese culture is going to be exhausted very soon. Will have to send another Bodhidharma then.
We genuinely admire and care for you.
