MAX REACTS: Playstation 5 - STATE OF PLAY Full (January 24)

The First Silent Hill 2 remake trailer was all Story and now the Second is showing us The “Still in development” Combat and such. I think that’s perfectly fine. The Game is gonna be awesome when they’re Done.

I hope greatswords in Dragon's Dogma 2 are WAY better than in the first one, cause they were DOGSHIT in the first one.

I was thoroughly bored by that Death Stranding trailer. It had like... EVERYTHING... except an emotional hook. It was like watching a dramatization of an encyclopedia of an imaginary world with a guitar lightning bolt gun dude jammed in there when the "oh no we need personality" panic set in half way through.

I wouldn't say that Rise of the Ronin combat is similar to Ghost of Tsushima. Saying it's similar because there is parrying does not make sense to me. By that logic, RE4 remake and GOT are similar even though that is not true at all. Literally tons of games have a parry mechanic.

The combat in ROTR is also a lot more flashy and less grounded than Ghost. You can't use a grapple to pull yourself towards people and Jin does not jump around during combat. There are also no guns in Ghost.

The only complete similarity between Ronin and Ghost is that they both take place in Japan.

The combat in Silent Hill 2 was meant to be rough. The guy you are playing as is not a hero, no training, and not just awesome. If you go back and play, and actually focus on combat it gets better the more you do, as James gets more proficiency. It's a mechanic they put in the game. Like the more you run, the less winded your character becomes.

In the first game they had it to where the more you used the firearms the brute you got, and the less you missed.

Stellar Blade looks just like the older X1 title Recore, at least on the surface.

Hoo boy cant wait for Tuesday for Max to gush over all the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth News. Its surreal how much I look forward to Max Fanboying over the game

To Max's point regarding Nier: Automata and Platinum Games saying "It's PLATINUM", even with the names that initially came when the company was first founded, even Platinum Games had to start somewhere. It's going to be the same for Shift Up and Stellar Blade and EVERY developer just starting and even current devs.

It's comes down to us gamers INVESTING in the game and giving the game a CHANCE. We gamers NEED to take more chances on certain games. There will always be prestige among certain games and developers but TRUE growth comes from giving new devs and new IPs a chance and investing in them. Most gamers today have lost this thought and concept and need to rediscover it for the gaming market to keep growing in the long-term rather than clinging to familiarity constantly.

Needs more Dragula trailers for sure.

I'll admit that the "graphics" for Death stranding (or whatever) are impressive, but the game looks stupid. To me. You guys can enjoy it, and I won't shame you. I just can't stand games like this that try to go super emo.

I might be in the minority, but I hate the fact that even if it's a meme, Shadow as a character is incomplete unless he has a gun in his hand. Dude can teleport, throw magic bolts from his hands and do all sorts of reality-breaking shit without the Chaos Emeralds, and yet folks are still asking "Does he get a gun?"

Rise of the Ronin combat and enemy animations look so weightless. They really gotta iron that shit out. And SH2, man... I was so worried on the initial release trailer and it now only got worse: the feel of the game was nothing like the original. I really appreciated the subtlety, and the dreary atmosphere in the OG. The new one immediately lost that feeling. I'm also worried that it might be too melodramatic and lose that realness. I also get that 3rd person view is the way to go these days, but I'm concerned that might lose a lot of the fear of the unknown and the emphasis on certain points of interest the original had with it's camera angles that were very deliberate. And I'm not gonna even get started on how the animations and enemies look, my god.
