ОтветитьIf you are stick welding 6010 and 7018 Rods are highly recommended 🙂
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьAlways great information in your videos I definitely look forward to hearing your thoughts on welding and safety
ОтветитьGreat video and great information!!!! I appreciate it very much! I am planning on starting a mobile welding business part time and this information will help...
ОтветитьBen Franklin said it best, "never a borrower nor a lender be". True then as now especially with tools , books , etc.
ОтветитьA decent non-Asian vice and a 110 volt portable chop saw.
ОтветитьWet wipes.
ОтветитьAwesome! Thank you!
ОтветитьOne comment on the hand tools section. Buy extra 10mm wrenches and sockets. They seem to want to transform into 12mm every 6 weeks or so.
ОтветитьDo you require specialized PPE to protect your beard or does the standard gear take care of you?
ОтветитьReally good point about covering up. I remember being a young apprentice elevator mechanic welding machine beams to building steel in a working hospital. I worked for Otis elevator at the time and they furnished really good heavy grade cotton work shirts that work great for welding…good enough I figured. Well I was too interested in showing off my three chest hairs to all the hot nurses to button my shirt up all the way….ended up with the hottest, red, blistered patch of sunburn I’ve ever had, and yea my three chest hairs fell out too.
ОтветитьBy the way. Excellent PPE discussion. Thanks for doing that. Too many kids think they don’t need that.
ОтветитьI told my wife The Red Beard said I can have more tools. She actually said ok.
Ответитьi have what they call a multi proceess tombstone welder that you could make it turn to with wire change and bolts and things change things to mig tig or stick but its a buzz box and not willing to part with it so NO I WONT SELL
ОтветитьThank you for this video …
Question tho, I’m wanting to build a welding cart from scratch (while practicing welding) and i need some advice. I own a small MIG welder already (learning) and want to buy a TIG welder to learn that process too (to build this cart and for future use). Should I make two separate carts for each machine with gas 1 cylinder (or 2 for spare) and include a tool chest, machine, cylinders, grinder hangers, clamp hangers, etc.? OR, should I build a welding station with both machines and the tool chest, cylinders and all else with some HD casters for it to still be mobile?
If I make 2 separate carts, then I’ll have sets of tools in each tool box of that machine’s cart and have to go back and forth.
but I don't want to start a welding business....
ОтветитьLove the way you focused on the PPE and reasons. Great on you
ОтветитьFire extinguisher is a must
ОтветитьLast Prime day I got a plasma cutter, extended warranty and a box of consumables all for much less than the cheapest Milwaukee portable bandsaw.
Plasma cutters have really come down in price.
You say mobile welding welder and generators understand if you pick a 200 amp welder you need 12k+ or more generator to run the welder to do thick stuff
ОтветитьWhich multimatic machine would you recommend? Any suggestions, please.
Ответитьone thing 1g - 3g certification get them just a few it looks good and sounds good
ОтветитьI wish i live there
ОтветитьYou forgot the old fashioned metal hacksaw and the first aid kit..
Ответитьwrap your corners....
ОтветитьInvoicing and E-Transfer payments. Tell me how it's done. They need to know to invoice immediately. All invoices need to be marked with "Payment due in 7 days"...forget 30 days!!!!
ОтветитьBuy a dremel to clean splatter. It shows you looked over your own work and it makes everything look neat.
ОтветитьAll great advice. May I suggest a p2 face mask as well . I knew this guy who was a tig welder and never used a mask. After welding most of his life he had lung poisoning which looks like Parkinson disease. Not nice
ОтветитьHow do you gage a rate for a job? Hourly plus what?
ОтветитьA caliper is a must !!
ОтветитьA good harness for going up in man lifts
ОтветитьFire extinguisher is a good idea to have.
ОтветитьBeen thinking alot about starting my own welding gig, evertime I watch your videos but at the same time I'm kind a nervous about it coz I don't know where to start and much I will be making to keep up with all my bills.
ОтветитьOnly thing I’d say u missed is a wire wheel , maybe some lineup bars and punches
ОтветитьThank you for this video also you shouldn’t be sorry for being dyslexic
ОтветитьI've been an hvac technician for almost 30 years so I have alot of tools i need to learn how to weld
ОтветитьA set of punches and a good set of drill bits.
ОтветитьRed bread my girl still mad at me
ОтветитьI use a vice so often that I can’t think of not having one. Don’t skimp on this, get the best you can afford.
ОтветитьInsurance is proving to be an issue here. Colorado has some special laws around welding shops. Still trying to figure it out.
ОтветитьDo you have any recommendations for a generator? I have an everlasting STI 250 but don’t know if I can power it with a cheap harbor freight genny. Does it depend on the output the generator can put out?
ОтветитьBusiness cards are so important.
Don't get too hung up on having a fancy multi color holographic one.
Just get one with the the basics, your email, address and phone and keep some with you at all times.
A plain card you have with you is better than a fancy one you left at home, at the printers or haven't gotten around to finishing yet.

ОтветитьI just really appreciate that you said wife or husband. I'm the tradie and boyfriend definitely things I don't need anymore tools 😂😅
ОтветитьGreat video! Love the details and recommend gear! Really liked the paper work And licensed part as well, great job! 👏
