Logic Pro X Tutorial - Vocal Comping

Thanks for the overview. How do I cut out parts in between like if there is breathing on each take but I don‘t want that in the comped take at all?

Hi Charles, thank you for the video. Do you know how to get Logic to put new takes into the quick swipe comp view all the time? I have that option selected, but when I record new takes, it just creates a new audio region. Thanks! You rock dude.

can you listen to a previous take while you are recording a new take? for example you have to punch in on word or something similar? You need to hear the previous take.

Hey dude thanks for posting this awesome video. I have long avoided this process. Mainly because I do not understand this whole function. But you explained it very well. My only question is when it comes to volume automation. How is that done with all of the multiple takes in the drop down? Do you have to flatten and merge the tracks and then automate once it’s merged? Or will you still have the option to automate with the multiple tracks still in the drop down.

Dear Charles, can you shift left and right or adjust the speed (time stretch/truncate) of a single comp among other comps in Logic Pro X?

Hello. Great information. I have a question please. If the recordings are on different tracks can I combine them so I have the opportunity to comp them with this method you show? Or it has to be done on one track?

Hi I was comping some vocals and I could hear them on my headphones before and now I can’t hear it so I don’t know when to start the part that I’m missing I was doing it on the same track

is there any way to apply fades to the comp track without flattening and losing every takes?
I don't want to lose any information so I tried and I managed to apply fades on the composition but after some minute my edits disappear.

Hey Charles, how do you create a new comp? I don't see it on the menu. My workaround is to duplicate and work from there. not a big deal but wondering.

In your opinion, do you feel that Logic has gotten more competitive with 3rd party plugins like soundtoys since the newest version, the 10.5 update?
