Having learned networking in the late 90s CCIE is still the gold standard for me. Sadly it's no longer fairly valued in the marketplace. You can earn considerably more with public cloud and devops qualifications. Considering the amount of effort that goes into obtaining CCIE it's difficult to justify now.
Ответитьjust passed my 300-410 ENARSI. kind of curious about CCIE. what's the best way to prepare it if no real devices. do they actually tests lots of different model.
ОтветитьYes interested
Ответитьhaha I smiled throughout the whole video
ОтветитьI don't understand how does this guy does not age. I am looking at his videos for last 6 years and I thought he is like in his thirties. Just mind blowing. We need to know what is this guy eating !!!
ОтветитьGood tips
Ответитьinspirational as always..😀 thanks Keith.
ОтветитьKeith, your closing remarks were especially inspirational. I continue to try to build skills both in music and technology. This year I have decided to celebrate the small wins. In 2022, I have sung in five operas and I completed four IT certifications so far (ITF+, Cloud Essentials+, Security+, LPI Linux Essentials). I take the ISC2 pilot entry level security exam tomorrow, and I plan to take Network+ and Python PCEP in the next few weeks. With certifications, at least I can pat myself on the back and point to verifiable accomplishments, milestones along the journey. The certification path can become very clear even when everything else seems to be a blur. But you are right. The greater your skills, the more that you can contribute to the world.
Ответитьyes nothing is impossible just you need a focus what you want....
ОтветитьThe problem with certification courses is that it is self study, paid courses are mainly designed to take your money with no guarantee. This is why so few people do it, as it is suited to only a certain type of person or temperament.
In most cases, these courses dont make sense because vendor training used to be for professionals already in the industry where you already are proficient in most of these concepts and issues.
But for someone who is learning from a textbook from scratch as cisco courses are design for, it a lot like the guy who lives in mums basement who is gonna smash through the books
Great words Kieth. Finding an edu system that tolerates moments of less clarity is very hard to come by👍 but this is where the extra mile is provided by personal drive.. do you want it? A question I ask myself frequently. Have been up through the CCNP route am now specialising in Cyber and attempting a Masters Degree at 58 years and post full military career, problem solving is still high on the interests list. Thanks Kieth for the years of motivation and simple learning techniques👍👍
ОтветитьI had a friend (a triple CCIE) that one of his troubleshooting issues was an obscure KRON job that did a configuration change every few mins. I figured that out with minutes to spare. He was a newer CCIE. My brother is in the 8K range of numbers.
ОтветитьGreat instructor ever !
ОтветитьHi Keith, I'm not a network engineer but rather a system/security engineer, I'd like to obtain CCIE Security but was wondering if it required me to have certain level of knowledge around networking (switching/routing etc.) I did take CCNA but I've never worked as a network engineer so if CCIE Security requires me to understand how to configure a router, then probably I can't make it
ОтветитьHi Keith, i passed my CCNA because of you. Thanks! Going to work on my CCNP next. Out of curiosity, do you have nuggets for CCIE? I can only find text books.
ОтветитьI definitely wanna thank the person who told you that you can be a teacher. If it wasn't for that guy/gal you would've never get into the instructing world. I am more than happy to be one of your audiences cause your elaboration skills are more than amazing.
ОтветитьMan I’m getting anxiety just listening to your own experience.
ОтветитьCongratulations! How much time it took you to get your CCIE after being CCNP CERTIFIED and Can you estimate an optimal time for a CCNP certified person to get its CCIE?
ОтветитьQuite the inspiration
ОтветитьKeith Promote your Channel Please ! Your Content is amazing
ОтветитьHi Keith. Have you done any videos on new ASA firepower please?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing it! Physically I have no peer friends to study with but thanks to the technology I have many awesome online trainers like you! What energy and enthusiasm!!!
ОтветитьYou overcoming your failures confirms my belief that your are a true network god. Not only that, your story has motivated me to continue my studies. Thank you Keith.
ОтветитьI passed my ccna last week. Im starting my ccnp enterprise this week. Thank you for being such a great teacher.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing
ОтветитьI only worked layer 1 and some 2, studied a little CCNA, achieved CompTIA Network+ (no snickering, please), so couldn't appreciate this video as much as many others. Still, enough to be glad guys like you exist. And a reminder how much brain power goes into networking that hardly anyone is aware of. Looking forward to your other videos. On anything.
ОтветитьAlthough I knew already, the best thing you said here is "don't do something for the sake of doing, but for the love of it"
Ответить"It was like quarantine" oh, past keith, if you only knew.
Ответить@keithbarker Would you ever consider going for the Cisco Certified Architect?
Ответитьmate, as you do talk about technologies, I would advise concentrating on facts, do not go in too many details out of topic. As I have found it boring .
ОтветитьThis video is one of the best I have ever seen on hits subject. It really helps to jumpstart the CCIE Certification process if you like to by pass the CCNA and CCNP certs !!!
ОтветитьHey Keith, worst test taker in the world here. Your CBT Nuggets for sec+ was a godsend and I couldnt of done it without you. Passed with a 777, but I passed. On to CCNA next. Thanks man!
ОтветитьI ate some pie... Good T-shirt Keith
ОтветитьKeith is one of the top network resources available. I was fortunate to attend Keith's CCIE Security course and passed lab on first attempt.
ОтветитьYour grndkids will be the happiest...you are a very good story-teller..that is also a skill
Ответитьthat was moving, thanks for sharing
ОтветитьWhat does your t-shirt say?
ОтветитьVery inspiring, Thank you Keith for sharing your experience
Ответитьdamn bro, i needed to hear this. CCNP encor is booked for a week from now, i've done nothing but study for the last 3 months even while working. Wish me luck, going through some of your multicast material from CBTnugs to fill in some gaps. Thanks chief!
ОтветитьI think I can mute this video and overlay some NF and it will be a perfect match! Yup, I was right!
ОтветитьGreat story , thanks Keith
after listening to you , i have decided iam going for CCIE EI
Dear Sir Please answer... I have done my CCNP RS and after 23 Feb I have got the CCNP Enterprise certificate along with specialist certification do I need to pass Encore exam 350-401??? For CCIE Enterprise or I can go directly for LAB???
ОтветитьI want to get my CCIE by the time I’m 35
ОтветитьI love your story telling! I'm far from it but I wonder if it's possible to get the binder and testing materials in large print? I'm visually impaired and this is something that always worries me.
ОтветитьThanks, so much for sharing your story. It thought it is very helpful for me..
ОтветитьI pass CCIE in 2019.5.13 ,coincidental.
ОтветитьIs a ccna or ccie still a demanding cert?
ОтветитьYou are my inspiration Keith. Was almost giving up on my Cisco journey
