How to Deal MAX Damage in Destiny 2 (Beginner's Guide)

Fallout- Thanks for this video. This has cleared up much of my understanding on "damage how to". Very well made and laid out video.

had NO idea about column 1 damage. I thought well of radiance was just for health regen. I have all my other 3 bases covered mostly, but also I didn't know smoke bomb weaken is just 15% no wonder I don't see much of a difference on damage when used.

This a very well made video and is perfect for letting people know how damage strats are made and optimized but it is leaving out something most people avoid doing because its hard and thats swapping. For the most part the reason why rockets are so busted in our current meta is because when put into a swap rotaion they have reasonable total damage while also having the highest dps in the game when pair with ghorn. Obviously this type of dps is not nessasary for anything other than master raid 1 phases, speedrunners and carrying bad teamates in normal raids but it is how you max your damage.

I actually prefer using the -8% staff count debuff and 1.2 billion wasted on buying staff stock for Sony method. It's quite powerful, will stun and shock everyone around you, and destroys any morale in your way. However it is a bit inaccessible as it required a ton of investment, but it is well worth it

Are damage stacking buffs multiplicative or additive? So is well and full surge 47% increase or 53%?

Most people don't even have fun in this game because they're f**king morons, everything is just 1 phase, well, bubble, tether and "meta" weapons to them like there's nothing else in the game, and if you don't use one of these then you'll get kicked, how can y'all be such losers crying about when someone doesn't use well, bubble, tether and "meta" weapons, as if there is a Grim Reaper behind your backs who whispers in your ears, "Y'all running out of time, if you guys don't 1 Phase the Boss I'll kill y'all one by one." Imagine you‘re getting downgraded to 1 subclass like „you warlock using well, you titan using bubble and you hunter using tether“

This has nothing to do with this video but if there’s any beginners reading through the comments and are like “I know all of this already!” Then there’s another column you could look at adding: uptime. This includes reload speed, weapon perks like fourth times the charm, burst supers instead of roaming and handling speed to switch between your weapons as quick as possible! Spending as little time as you can not shooting can have a massive effect on your DPS! ❤

Exact reason why I use Lumina and Well in a raid setting.
Because I back my boys by allowing them to make more damage.
I walk, so they can fly.

someone told me recently that activity surge like modifier doesn’t stack armor surges. is that true ?

If you're the div bitch and you want big damage numbers, try a hot head with lasting impression and auto loading, arc surge mods, arc handling mods, and cenotaph.
Shoot rocket, swap to div, hold trigger until you hear auto loading's click, swap to rocket, repeat. Ceno makes it so the div bubble never goes down and you don't need to feather the trigger, and you get to add surge rockets to the mix.

how do you still not know that buffs are multiplicative? why dont you mention that surges and overcharge dont stack? you constantly have so much misinformation in your "new player" guides. just stop making them if you're barely going to do research and then just misinform people.

No backup plans in in column 1. Don't try and stack it with a bubble. It wont work

Wait wait wait I thought the well have you 25% damage on top of your outgoing damage. So if you gave 100 dmg base, then 10% from surge, that gives you 110 dmg then the well gives you 25% on 110, rather than 25+10=35% of 100. Or no?

Hey fallout can you do a follow up video with weapon load outs like using a fusion, witherhoard, and a bait and switch rocket and talking about which fusion and rocket you should use for most damage?

Couldn't the boots of the assembler function the same as the lumina hand cannon buff?

Correction: Buffs are multiplicative, not additive. Multiplied together you get:

Radiant + 1 Surge: 1.25 * 1.1 = 1.375 (+37.5%)
Radiant + 2 Surges: 1.25 * 1.17 = 1.4625 (+46.25%)
Radiant + 3 Surges: 1.25 * 1.22 = 1.525 (+52.5%)

This applies to all 4 "columns" as well as all stacking buffs in "column 3", e.g.:

Radiant + 3 Surges + BnS + Boss Spec: 1.25 * 1.22 * 1.35 * 1.0777 = 2.21871487 (+121.87%).

I kind of knew most of this as a long time player but never really seen it laid out and explained so well, especially the column 3 stacking with each other thing

I stopped running Banner Shield in LFG/match made content, b/c blueberries would actually walk around it and shoot out in front. Regularly. sigh

Did not know the damage buff from Banner shield was that high. I’ll keep that in mind when guiding new light with terrible damage output. Might be better if they’re a Titan to just run sentinel shield

Can't believe so many people think ursa sentinel shield is even remotely viable at this point in destiny. I'm just glad I haven't run into them in LFG

I was under the assumption (and had been told multiple times by others, didn't bother to check for myself) that divinity's 15% debuff overrides any 30% debuff for as long as the bubble is up, is that not the case?

Thank you so much for this! I struggle so hard on DPS phases and I can never figure out why. Now I have a guide to troubleshoot my builds. As a newish player, no one has been able to break this down in this way and let’s be honest, vet players just say “put on xyz” and don’t/can’t explain why it works or how I can modify what I have to fit the situation. It’s one of the reasons why I love as a void hunter because I don’t know how to put mods together with other builds. Thanks again!!!

Small clarification. Buffs/Debuff/Surge stacking is multiplicative and not additive for instance 10% surge buff and 25% well buff the bonus is not 1.1+1.25=1.35 or a 35% buff, instead is it 1.1*1.25=1.375 or a 37.5% buff.
Not a big difference with only a couple of buffs, but the more things you have stacking together the crazier the difference becomes. The multiplicative system is mainly why melee stacking in the past used to be really op and still is really strong.

Anywhoozles... yes I found this very helpful. While I already knew everything, it's helpful to see it laid out and explained fully so you can see what to pick and choose in most situations. Also holy shit! I had ZERO idea that Banner Shield gave THAT big of a dmg buff... nor that lumina was actually superior to well... thats crazy.

Ooh also PS even the "Div Bitch" can pull some damn good numbers if they spam fire rather than hold fire. It procs its secondary ability and shatters the shield far quicker which does some pretty good, as well as applying the shield faster too... if your team times their shots they can get a reload or grenade throw, well drop, etc in while the tap fire does its thing then go back to firing and put out some great damage. I always amaze people at the dmg output I can do when I'm running Div for the group and spam tap firing. It's pretty crazy.
