She is obviously way out of touch with indie filmmaking, if she thinks it has to be expensive. Anyone who’s spent time doing it knows you can make a no-budget/micro-budget film, which can at least gain you a following, if you have a good story and do the work in engaging your audience. You can start small and grow. Even if you spend more money on your film, you still have to watch your spending and do it wisely.
ОтветитьFeeling attacked after the first 50 seconds tbh.
ОтветитьNow it’s $600 to sign up for a business account just to use that feature...
ОтветитьSo if I want to use it the free version? And once I start to make money on videos it would seem understandable..im glad I watched this because I'm not paying before I know people will pay for extended
ОтветитьPaintbrushes cost too much. That easel is just way out of my range. Is there a video on Vimeo showing how to make an easel out of an old pallet?
ОтветитьIMAO.. 🛑🙀👎Vimeo aggressively takes PRO money & then, insiders club Judges Ur ART in parochial unsophisticated way .. snooty customer support. .. heartless destruction of 300 iMovies I paid them to host .. they destroyed citing bogus violation .. this is criminal unaddressed collusive scam monopolistic .. laws need to be modernized to address this abuse of Creators .. thought it was only me but hundreds being sucked in by this apparent monopolistic collusive scam of major platforms
ОтветитьVimeo on demand is working for me, it's about promoting yourself and your film. I think most film maker make their film and do not work as hard on selling their film. There is a Vice media Documentary in post production on how I did the post production on my film and launched it, when the documentary is online this should drive the traffic to Mystic Demon Killer. Also I think many film makers under value their film, so what if you made it with no money put a good price on it! The reason for this is, if I see a film that has a low price for sale or rent then I think it may not be worth watching! and there is no point to run after the people who want to see something for free.
ОтветитьIt's not a good look. You can get your film out without spending $200/yr. Thats insane. Vimeo is not popular enough. She must work for Vimeo. Lol
Ответитьshe said to be a photographer. I am a pro photographer of 25 years....ummmm, I've spent $4,000 on ONE camera body. Not bragging, just saying, what the hell does she think photography costs? she's a paid actor, and not a good one.
ОтветитьVIMEO ON DEMAND IS A SCAM! It's true, that has happened to us!
They steal all money from the sales of your videos
Beware of Vimeo on Demand! It's a big global scam hidden by a great company. I hosted my videos and sold them in VIMEO ON DEMAND. Months passed and when the date came to pay for Paypal my earnings for the sales of my videos a moderator, named Melissa, who works at Vimeo, 555 W 18th St, New York, NY 10011, EE.UU. writes me a small communication that says "Your videos are inappropriate for Vimeo and we have deleted your account".
They stayed all the money ... When claiming it they say that their policies indicate (it must be in small print) that if they delete accounts because they do not like your videos to Vimeo, the filmmakers do not have the right to your money .. AND THEY STEAL YOU !
Crocodylus the movie spring 2018.
Ответитьand Vimeo isn't THAT well known amongst movie watchers. Filmmakers, yes. Film watchers, no.
Ответитьomg what a condescending woman lol
Ответить$200/year is a scam for distribution in 2017 btw - even if you already have an audience of millions there is no reason to pay that much. There are definitely platforms that cost NOTHING(they take a %) that also have built in monetizable audiences that they actively searching for and viewing content. I won't name them here, I save that info for productions that I am helping out with/consulting on. But it looks like Vimeo is for those that don't understand that such "distribution" is totally unnecessary in 2017. This is Not how you distribute nor monetize film in this day and age.
ОтветитьSo, you STILL have to drive traffic to Vimeo to make sales? The issue with filmmakers is NOT the lack of platform, there are a MILLION platforms - it's accessing an active built-in audience. So the question, are existing VIMEO users readily searching for and Paying for on-demand vids?
Ответитьwow what a bitch. $200, even $1 is too expensive to pay if you're make $1 for every thousand views like other platforms offer. $200 is a no brainer IF Vimeo has a built in audience ready to buy like Amazon does. Nobody has been able to answer that Q though.
ОтветитьDoesn't she have lovely green eyes.
ОтветитьI don't mind the 200 bucks a year. Id pay 300. What I abhor is that my customers will have to sing up for a Vimeo account they will never use. Most of them have never even heard of Vimeo or care to use the service beyond watching my film. It will cut into my sales by about 50%-60% and that is really a deal breaker for me. Too bad, I was excited to upgrade my Vimeo Plus account to Pro
ОтветитьYes! Vimeo on Demand is great.. if you already have your audience developed.
Vimeo is not going to help you market your film. Staff Picks are whatever they felt like that day, they often contain copyrighted music or even other people's films (Search for Wes Anderson / Centered)
I don't know anybody who just shows up to Vimeo on Demand to watch movies, honestly. And I've been a Vimeo creator for 6 years. Getting traffic to your film is your problem.
Still, it's good to know it's there.
Do I understand correctly that Vimeo On Demand is not allowing you to display your films on your own website and that users have to watch them on Vimeo directly?
ОтветитьDoes anyone has or knows anyone who actually makes money from Vimeo?
ОтветитьWe'll watch on DVD/Blu-ray discs and skip the pathetic "digital" files, etc.
ОтветитьThanks for posting. Quite helpful!
ОтветитьThis is another great option. $200 shouldn't stop you.
ОтветитьThis is great advice. Especially when it comes to creating an audience and monitoring conversions with analytics.
ОтветитьI watched this video and I am a painter now.
