so its a quad/thruster/twin+trailer?
ОтветитьHi Noel! I bought this board because of your review thanks! I got a 5’8 at 31L and I’m 5’7, 68kg.
A couple years later, I bought a 5’4 at 26.4L….i ride lower volume now based on your advice a few years ago :)
I rarely ride my 5’8 now. My question is whether I should sell my 5’8 or does it have its purpose - say as a step up in bigger waves? Would this type of board be suitable as a step up or not really? Thanks!
What grovels better for Florida waves? The hypto or revo?
ОтветитьThinking about getting a hk or a rnf96. Found both in the same dims and same price but not sure what to go for. I surf mostly beach and some reef in SD
ОтветитьGreat review
Thanks
I think there is an over emphasis on bottom contour and not enough on rocker. My experience with windsurfing hulls is, rocker is everything when it comes to speed and turning. Not just the degree but also change in curvature.
ОтветитьI'm looking at using this board for my step up & step down board.
Would you recommend riding it 1-1.5 liters more than my standard performance board or the same liters because of the shape and relaxed rocker?
I'm aware of the low entry rocker and wide profile nose but how would this board at 31L paddle compared to my 31L Monstabox 2020? Thanks!
ОтветитьYou look so much better on an extra bit of foam than what you say you like. So many of the boards you test look like they're slightly too low volume for you. Purely from an observer's perspective
Ответитьdoes this board do well for improving vertical surfing?
ОтветитьHey Noel, thanks for the review. I'm trying to get a board with more paddle power than my CI Happy Everyday and thinking I'm going to get the Hypto. I'm 5'11 / 168, lower intermediate. Could you recommend size? I surf South Bay / LA.
ОтветитьSURF SMALLER FINS! If you want more speed and release especially with the hk use the F4 fins. If you have the older original F4s They work extremely well in the smaller boards on up. I highly suggest a black stix F4 they are awesome and the EA black stix Are some of my favorite fins period for release of the bottom and turns. These fins will change your game completely. Get rid of your large fins and I’m 6 foot 4 to 225. Unless you’re surfing huge reef break or big bumpy waves.
ОтветитьHi Noel, Thank you so much for your awesome reviews. I live on Oahu in Hawaii so I have access to different types of waves. That being said If you had to choose between the Firewire Cymatic or Hypto Crypto which board you choose? I plan on using this board for smaller waves with 2-6 foot faces. Thanks 🙏🏻
ОтветитьI've seen so many of Noel's videos and I can say just by looking at his surfing, if you're a good surfer this board will keep you from progressing.
ОтветитьHey Noel I just watched a review that said the dhd black diamond was a better board than the krypto?? Have u ridden the black diamond?
ОтветитьNoel I want one I’m gonna reach out if I find the funds to buy one
ОтветитьTop shelf reviews, Noel! Any plan on reviewing the Hayden Shape Hypto Krypto Twin?? I just got one and love it frontside, but can’t quite figure it out backside and what fins work best. Be cool to get your take on it!
ОтветитьHi Brother... Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us..!.. I'm from Ecuador.. A friend offers me a HK 5.6.. I'm 5.8 and 75 kg.. Intermediate level..!. Do you think is good to progress my surfing?.. Thank you bro.. Greetings from Ecuador
ОтветитьQuick question Noel. What do you think of Futureflex for a mini step up? Stick to PU for 4-8ft or get a slightly heavier epoxy glass job on the Futureflex?
ОтветитьI have both models, the one with three fins and the one with five fins, and I prefer the model with three fins.
I can't determine why, maybe because the five-fin model weighs more, I don't know if it's because it has five pockets or because it has more resin as a whole and because, in addition to all that, it's painted blue. My first of three fins is not painted.
I feel like the 5 fin surfboard is the clumsy brother of the 3 fin surfboard, even with the heavy use I've given the 3 fin board over the years.
It's as if the five fin board was about to take off but didn't.
I usually use two fins, and exceptionally I put the rear one, or failing that, instead of using three fins, I use two FK2 to draw long turns with great stability.
Definitely, I would always stay with the original hypto crypto, with only three fins and lighter, more explosive, easier to do whatever comes to mind.
I just picked up an old beater krypto. Love it! I want to buy those Aipa fins but mine is fcs fins. The ones you are on are futures. Do you know if the fcs and future aipa twin + trailer templates are the same?? They look a little different. Thanks!!!
ОтветитьI’m a big guy (6’3” - 230lbs) and I struggle to find boards that fit me, I ended up getting a 6’8”.
Based on your review I also bought a set of MR twin + trailer fins, took a minute to get used to but you weren’t lying when you said “next level fun”… I tested as a thruster and I came out to the beach immediately and put the 2+1 set back on. This board has helped me to progress my surfing so much….
Took it to a trip in El Salvador and was stoked the entire time!!! Thanks for the review
Hi noel!!! Im 145 pounds and 5’7 height , advanced surfear what dimensions would you recomend me ??? Thanks bro
ОтветитьHey Noel, I asked you before about your opinion on fcs 2 fins for my old hypto and you recommended me the MR fins which felt amazing. Sadly accidents happened and it’s out of commission. Anyways I got another 5’6 hypto but good ol future fin boxes. Friend had a pair of twin + trailer captain co panda fins. Do you think these fins will work well with the board? 5’6 hypto and I am 5’10 at 175lbs. I usually surf 28 liters. The catch is, this board will also be used by my gf who’s 135lbs. Is the fin too big for her? We usually surf in 1-4ft conditions. Anything bigger and I use my HPSB’s.
ОтветитьGreat review Noel! Average surfer from Brazil here, 195lbs, what’s your thought on a 5’11 EPS 35L or 36L? Best!
ОтветитьI'm 5'9 intermediate, was thinking in getting a 5'8 31L HS. Usually I ride a 5'5 retro fish at 32L. What you guys think?
ОтветитьTop surfer and top reviewer.
ОтветитьDid the original Hypto have different dimensions? Seems like the new ones have less volume? I used to ride a 5’10 and could have sworn it was 35-36 liters, now I see the 5’10 is 33? Anyone know?
ОтветитьI have been surfing my hypto for a couple years now. I love the board, but as I switch between that and my summer short boards, I am starting to realize how much less maneuverability I have with the hypto. I am running a quad setup, but after watching your video, I just bought a set of the MR twin fins + trailer FCS II fins to try and liven the board up. You ran the Akila Aipa twin fins + trailer and loved it, do you think I will get a similar effect running the MR twin fins + trailer? Since you have ran both boards with a twin fin + trailer setup, which board did you find more fun, the hypto or the Lost MR Cali twin?
ОтветитьSuper surfboards fling
ОтветитьWhat song is he using
ОтветитьHey i’m 1.8 m 80 kg surfing 1-3 fit waves. Wich size should i take?
ОтветитьHi Noel.
First i would like to wish you (all of us) a happy New an better surfing year!!.
What about the hipto kripto twin?? I have seen in some tutorials that you already have one and i would like to see a review or you comments in this New model.
Thanks
Amazing review! I'll try your fav fin setup in my new HC
ОтветитьGood work mate…
ОтветитьGreat Review. Can we please not have the heavy metal music in the future.. Big fan of your reviews though!
ОтветитьBest board I have ever ridden. The stock board is like a custom and is worth every cent! If only that Stingray did not get me, I would have barreled more at Tama estuary!
ОтветитьDo you thing the 5'7 at 29.8L would work in smaller waves for a 172cm, 78kg surfer who can off the lip and carve? (No airs or 360 stuff like that)
ОтветитьHey Noel Great Review! You are rippin dude! I got a question. How would you compare this to the puddle jumper hp? I am a lower end intermediate starting to work on maneuvers and wanted to see what would be better for me to progress on. I am a grom and am around 5’2 100 pounds so lookin for something that could last me and also help me progress
ОтветитьThanks for the great review, just placed an order for one 🤙🏻
ОтветитьI appreciate your board reviews, Noel. Always very insightful. I have been surfing on my Hypto since around one year as a thruster with HS1 fins. I am 195 lbs and surf a 6’2; I am very intrigued about the twin + trailer set up. Wondering if anyone has recommendation which futures i shall look at. The Akila fins appear to be for smaller guys only. Thanks
Ответитьmost overpriced overrated surfboard ever and they snap so easily
ОтветитьNoel, thanks for the review! Hope to see a review on the new Hypto Kryto Twin to compare to the original.
Ответить🌊🤙
ОтветитьGreat work Noel! I'm torn between getting the Hypto or the Dominator 2. Which of the two is more stable for a guy with a slow pop up?
ОтветитьI don't know where you surf but your tests always seem to be in good clean conditions and nice shape waves. Do you deliberately avoid poor windblown conditions or does the surf always pump at your local ?
ОтветитьThere's a reason why it's one of the most popular boards in the world. Can be ridden short or long depending on age / ability and wave type. For me it's like having training wheels and I ride it 6'4" when ive been out of the water and lost fitness.
Hayden has said it's supposed to be ridden as a thruster and only added 5 fin option reluctantly because people kept asking for it.
I don't like it as 2+1 when riding the 6'4", it needs a swallow tail in that confuguration but I bet it works well when ridden much shorter.
Hi just wondering what size you would suggest for me. 6’4” 210lb and low intermediate thanks
ОтветитьHow did it ride compared to the sharpeye inferno 72?
ОтветитьAre the rack Hyptos still made by GSI?
Ответить
