So I’m paying cash for a used car from a dealership. They add the anti theft fee which was an additional 998 dollar. When I asked about it they said I have to have it. How do I get them to take it off

When I was told by a salesman that 'dealer prep' includes gas, topping off oil and other liquids, washing the car, properly inflating tires, vacuuming,, and etc, and that I would take care of that, he said they had already did those things. so, I told them, " You just had me test drive a car that was not properly ready for traveling and driving on the road"?
He said, "well no". So I said, "good, give me the car as is, at the price agreed upon, and I'll be on my way". As I was leaving with my new car, he kindly told me, "I had gotten the deal of a lifetime". I said, "thanks" and drove off.

I dont want to pay more than 1100 a month period. they agreed on negotiating...but im not sure how to argue those fees torrow when I meet them

Hi! Hopefully you see this soon. I am going to a dealership tomorrow morning and we already discussed an out the door price of $24,000, with a trade in of $550 for my Honda which I waited to hear an out of the door price of $24,740. So that part is good. They basically only took there advantage fee off, but still have the pre delivery fee on original base price is $20,890 but with all fees it came to like $27,500. This is for a 2020 Hyundai Sante Fe SEL with 27,800 miles convenience package. So they took some of their crazy fees off but how good is this price? I hope to get a better price but we shall see. This advantage fee is taken off but it’s for so many things like nitrogen filled tires and other things that all seem like a sale tactic to get you to do service there. I will be getting the factory warranty only. What can I expect for other garbage add ons? My loan is from a credit union so they said I won’t be signing anything except title and tag

Wish there was a list of honest car dealers if there is such a thing. The fact that you have to hassle or ask for these types of fees to be removed should be the red flag from the start. I hate doing business with scammers and if they are doing this then why are we giving them any business at all?

Nitrogen..if you are a Costco member you fill with Nitrogen for free.
It actually is useful, at least empirically, when you change environments often..like Florida to upstate NY in winter. Cold pressure remains very close to the same for several years. Always check regardless of course. But would never pay for it.

Good luck arguing about additional Markup dealership fees in a Toyota showroom when you go buy a 4Runner. 😂 they will say if you don’t buy it no problem, we have plenty of customers to buy the same car..

I went to Brandon FL Toyota to get an idea of what I could get for my current car. They gave me the hard sell which I didn’t like. The salesman implied that his time was valuable. They made me feel uncomfortable. I even said to the guy “hey you know that I know that Toyotas are the best cars. You really don’t have to hard sell me”. But he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about. They resisted giving me any price for my car until I committed to buying. But I wouldn’t do it. Is this typical?

Look Dummy's Just dont buy from dealers. When you use a third party your price will automatically be 40% higher. Middlemen are not needed when you know the car and have the credit and if your a govt employ use your UBS where the credit union tells the dealer what you will pay not the other way around. There is no need for a dealer to sell you a car. Just order them and pick it up or have the dealer deliver it. If you have a bank they will do the deal if you cant. Google it

Today in Houston I went to a Nissan & Toyota dealerships. $39K ( Leaf )& $49K ( Rav4 ) respectively MSRP new 2024. Non negotiable on both. And there was a $5859 list of non negotiable add ons on both. I laughed out loud in the sales managers face and left dancing while holding up my check book over my head. 😁
No sale. Let the cars rust on the lot.
