A big reason why I haven't traveled to other countries yet is because I'm scared of flying, I've had countless nightmares about plane crashes it's insane

What helped me and this isnt for everyone but just accept that everytime you fly that it could go wrong. Might as well be at peace and then when you land youll be super happy everytime!

I'm so afraid I have never flown, and don't plan on going. If i can't get there by boat, train or car its not meant for me to be there.

But this is old school. The way to battle it is to accept it. Surrender. Face it. Believe and know God is bigger than all of it. Even if it does crash I will be in the arms of Jesus so why am I afraid ?

When I visited Colorado for a wedding, it was my 3rd time flying and I am extremely scared to fly. This couple sitting across the aisle noticed I was quietly hyperventilating, they came next to me in the open seats and the man told me he was a pilot then began explaining what the plane was doing, what the pilot was doing etc His wife took my hand and held it until I had calmed down quite a bit. That helped me so much, it was one of the kindest things I’ve ever experienced. I am still terrified of flying and I absolutely don’t want my son flying either but I can’t say that to him, it’s my fear, not his.

I have this with going on a road trip. essentially its travelling in a car.

I wasn't afraid of flying until after covid. Since then I can't handle my anxiety when flying.

Tbh I really hate to admit this but I’ve only ever left my home state twice and that was to go to a neighboring state by vehicle because I do not want to fly. I truly wish I wasn’t like this but I’m soon going to make myself get on a flight because I want to go some place tropical for my holiday this year.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a weird thing to report on?

I think they need to introduce slower planes that dont fly too high and reach destination like in double the time. They will be expensive but lot of people will be willing to pay more for low turbulent flights.

Its funny how fear flying sets in after a few flights. I dont remember being anxious in my first few flights. I wish I can always have that state of mind.

If I could have a live feed of the cockpit and the audio then I’d be much less scared

I totally understand how these people feel. I used to love flying until one day I had the worst travel day and then I became afraid to fly. I used to have such anxiety every time I had to get on a plane after I became afraid. I haven’t been on a plane since January 2001.

I can feel her pain, I took at least 60 flights so far in my life and every time my anxiety gets worse and worse I don’t know how to help myself any more. They should be giving free medication onboard to anxious people by now it’s 21st century and there is still no cure for aerophobia

Getting on a plane for the first time this month with my college so I won’t be with family. I think I’m more nervous about the waiting around like in the airport and then waiting on the plane before it sets off. I’m scared that the anxiety will make me throw up. Does anyone know how I can try overcome this?
