Hi Randy. Once again my mind is blown by your app. I have been applying many aspects of this app into my Employee Payroll App for my country of Trinidad and Tobago. We have very different laws pertaining to taxation, deductions and overtime. Our Overtime is tiered on hours worked over 40 hours. It's 1.5 times for first 4 hours worked over 40 hours, double time for the second 4 hours worked over 44 hours and triple time for time worked over 48 hours (Cha-Ching). I created a VBA Function to calculate this and used in a formula to get overtime instead of creating an overly complex formula.
I noticed you're not using 2080 total annual working hours (8 hours x 5 days = 40 hours x 52 weeks = 2080 annual working hours) or 260 annual working days as a base for PTO's and overtime.
In some instances your formula(s) divides by 365 (days off included) to get a daily rate where, in my opinion anyway, it should be 260 (days off excluded).
Just to note, Federal overtime laws are based on a 40-hour workweek. Overtime hours are any hours worked over 40 in a single work week regardless of whether the employee is paid daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. This also true for Trinidad and Tobago unless the employee is paid by the day.
For Hourly paid employees: 2080 hours / 8 hours daily = 260 working days.
For Bi-Weekly/Hourly paid employees: 2080 hours / 26 pay periods = 80 hours per pay period.
For Semi-Monthly Salaried paid employees: 2080 hours / 24 pay periods = 86.6667 hours - Average working hours - Common practice.
For Monthly Salaried paid employees: 2080 hours / 12 pay periods = 173.3333 hours - Average working hours - Common practice.
To arrive at a daily rate for a Semi-Monthly or Monthly Salaried paid employee (applies to PTO mainly. Salaried employees usually don't qualify for overtime), the Salary (Semi-Monthly or Monthly) is divided by Average working hours of 86.6667 or 173.3333 hours.
I’ve downloaded this and not sure how to remove the preloaded employee information and add my employees from the start, it would have been nice to have downloaded a empty file bs preloaded but with instructions on how someone new to use this.

ОтветитьCreat a content on How to create automatic attendance sheet for students,😊
ОтветитьThis channel is at another level that I had not seen before, the way to teach this tool that is essential and transversal, all courses teach them in a traditional way, but this channel is incredible, congratulations friend, the fortune of being able to find this channel, it is magnificent, you take Excel to another level that I have not seen before.
ОтветитьHi Randy, another brilliant application of Excel. Even though I already use payroll software, so won't be using yours it is still interesting to learn your techniques.
Unlike most of your apps, I did notice one error in your logic. On the deductions of taxitems with yearly maximums, you didn't take into account the case where the YTD was under the maximum, but after the current payroll is added, it will exceed the maximum. You need to use the min function to compare the Calculated Deduction & the difference between YTD & Max Cost.
cool, but I have a question: how you create PDF code book? can you share this knowledge?
ОтветитьI am interested to learn VBA coding, need your help. Will you help?
ОтветитьSh*t !!! You're extremely good at Excel.
How long have you been practicing?
Thanks Randy for this amazing video.
ОтветитьDid not see anything on end of year tax reporting . W-2 reports etc. Also did not see anything on printing checks.. just the stub info. The tax info could be interesting because of how pay periods sometimes overlap calendar year beginnings and ends. So someone could be paid in first week of Jan and the income is reported in the new year based on the date of payment, although the earning period would be the last week or whatever in December. So the issue of YTD calcs may need to be reviewed since YTD usually corresponds to a tax reporting year. Did not watch all your calcs to see what you actually do but just raising some issues that occurred to me.
ОтветитьSir Can you talk about how to calculate and prepare payroll cheques please ?
ОтветитьHow would you treat empl. replacement here?
as example: ID 32 decided to leave, ID27 will be promoted to that role, for ID27 we plan to have open position with 2 months vacancy (recriutment period)?
