Fantastic series that helped me kick-off my work on playing the blues on sax! Any chance y'all have pdfs for these licks you present here and in the other videos? Also great to know of another great sax teacher to turn to here in NC!
ОтветитьHow can we find the music sheets you are showing (specially for the exercises)? Many thanks for this Blues series!!!
ОтветитьThank you for the lesson!
ОтветитьGreat lessons and advice. I am a new but already big fan.
ОтветитьThanks Doc
ОтветитьFantastic Waly! Your style and content is the best I have found on YT. As you know teaching/learning is as unique as the people involved in the process. I am returning to music ater a 40 year hiatus and find your method fits! Keep it up.
ОтветитьIs it possible to download the exercise chart for better viewing and printing? Thanks.
ОтветитьYou forgot the most important part though you executed it perfectly.
The smug end of solo look.
Yes that was sax and you should be suitably impressed. Anything you heard that was uncomfortable was artistic interpretation above normal understanding.
We now return to our regularly scheduled notes.
Simply great
ОтветитьI am a beginner jazz blues guitarist.
Love your videos immensely even though I've never touched Saxophone in my life.
This is the best material and approach to this topic I've found. My teacher has a tendency to move through material quickly and I often find myself in the state you describe of barely being able to keep up with chord changes let alone soloing in an attentive and controlled way.
On a separate note, are the PDFs for these blues lessons available anywhere? I'm happy to pay for this kind of material as a PDF package (similar to Chad LBs PDF packages).
I just took a bite out of a mountain. Not recommended.
Ответитьthis is really helpful Dr Wally but I'm having issue with the exercise.please can you upload the exercises
ОтветитьVery OK. Many thanks for this interesting video.
ОтветитьIt is just fun to try to play along with you...not easy, but giving it a shot! Thanks, Dr. Wally!
ОтветитьThank you dr Wally Wallace you are an awesome teacher! Out of all the good sax teachers online you are the best one!
Ответить당신의 수업시간이 너무좋아
I love u 💓
I think Dr Wallace is streets ahead of his fellow online educators in terms of articulating jazz language. And yes, I'm practicing.
ОтветитьCool stuff...Subscribed!
ОтветитьSuper man👌👍👏😊
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьDude I love the fact that you are putting out you tube content in suite & tie I have a sax I can't play so I have hit subscribe 😊
ОтветитьBesides basic major, minor scales, the blues and pentatonics were the first things that I learned in my early years of playing. I could hear these sounds in my saxophone heros solos. In those days my playing was limited to these scales. The blues is a great springboard for learning improvisation. Once again you are so on top of this Dr Wally. I wish you could have been around 50 years ago bro. I probably would have had a better insight into improvisation.
Ответитьas a blind player, this has been the best one and easiest to follow thanks doc
Ответитьthe best thing to happen to me and my sax in a long time.this is awsome
ОтветитьSnuck in the "bebop ending" in exercise 8...
ОтветитьExtremely good lesson. Thank you
ОтветитьYou are great! thanks
ОтветитьThanks Wally. So far I'm super impressed with your approach on this course. And I've been to them all: Jamie Anderson, Nigel McGill, Scott Paddock, Phil Marshall, Jay Metcalf...
ОтветитьThanks Wally! I tend to (rhythmically) over-anticipate chord changes, when playing over changes I am not very familiar with, so the 4 bar exercise is helpful.
ОтветитьWow! A rare combination of real, funny humor and deep, yet clear, way to digest knowledge. Superb, Dr. Wally!
Ответить"OK new analogy"... hilarious!
ОтветитьMerci pour ces exercices, c'est toujours un grand plaisir d'apprendre, surtout concernant le Blues au Saxophone, j'adore.
ОтветитьI really like the idea of just adding the one chromatic note to the diatonic scale and working the shit out of it , that's good clear structured teaching and makes a lot more sense than much of what I've been hearing from others
ОтветитьThanks Wally - Excellent lesson, as always 👍🏼
Ответить.... any PDF download
ОтветитьAs a retirement project student, the clarity and small step progression is greatly appreciated. Thank you Doc.
ОтветитьIs there a link to the PDF or do we need to write it out. Or did I miss something?
ОтветитьAwesome as Usual - Thanx
ОтветитьGrazie Maestro ❤️🎷
