Bro wtf are freakers searching it up is impossible it’s like they don’t exist in kenshi (I’ve never played the game but I’ve watched videos for years but this is my first time hearing about the race freakers naturally I look it up and nothing.)

The only things that bother me of kenshi is the lack of firearms and vehicles in a world where mechanical limbs exist.

The First Empire likly still exists off Kenshi. Kenshi just descended into such a shithole so fast the rest of the empire decided to just fuck off. Kenshi is a moon of a blue planet, and the First Empire very well could still be living properously there for all we know. Or maybe Kenshi is the only inhabitented celestial body now. Both options are terrifying.

The joke about 'freakers' actually made me excited and think there was some deep lore about some mysterious barely-appearing faction/race in the game i'd missed until I googled it extensively and found nothing. Damn.

Classic NCR vs Legion type of power dynamic. I think of the skeletons like the enclave remnants, and the Shrek ™️ like the brotherhood. Holy nation most certainly gives off Legion vibes, and the Allied Nations NCR ones to counteract. Overall good plot tho. Also good video, thumb man.

Great video! You'll probably never notice this comment, but after looking for lore on the wiki/ingame, and discussing with other kenshi players, let me share some theories with you:

- The First Empire's "war" against an "unknown enemy" could have been a civil war between the FE and increasingly autonomous skeletons. At this point the FE starts genetically modifying "humans" (likely low-quality clones) to be super-soldiers called "Enforcers", but their genetic instability would eventually make them degenerate into the Shek.

- Behemoths and Skeletons, lead by Stobe, decimate the First Empire, and almost exterminate "human" and enforcer populations. Cat-Lon and Tinfist likely gained their initial fame in this war. The war is won by the Skeletons, but Stobe betrays the Behemoths in Obedience.
This could be because either other Behemoths were about to finish off the remaining organics or because Stobe feared the Behemoth's destructive power. One thing is for sure : Stobe was determined to save Kenshi and it's population by any means possible.
He then later sacrificed himself against an apocalyptic super-weapon designed as a fail-safe if Kenshi ever was lost to the FE (much like the Russian "dead hand" system).


- One survivor (likely saved by "Chitrin") from the FE, later known as the Bugmaster, collects teeth from his dead kin, as teeth can store DNA for a very long time.
Cat-Lon assumes the role of whatever is left in Kenshi as the Second Empire. Tinfist, most likely a Stobe follower, stays with Cat-Lon and probably convinces him to not exterminate the remaining organics.
The Bugmaster figures out how to control spiders and starts harassing the SE. Calamities happen, imperial unity crumbles as organics factions start to appear, prompting police and military intervention to keep order.
Enforcers probably having outlasted their purpose slowly mutate and degenerate into the Shek. Humans rebel against the Empire for various reasons.
The Bugmaster tries to bolster his ranks and splices humanoid and spider DNA to create the Hivers in the Obedience Lab. The first experiment is a total failure and the first Hivers, without any control, become the Fogmen. The Bugmaster relocates to Arach, then creates two hive Queens to better control Hivers but fails at controlling the Queens. The Western Hive and the Southern Hive are created.
Meanwhile the SE crumbles by waging a civil war, forcing Cat-Lon to "entrall" his allies as discontent and dissidence grows among Skeletons.
The skeleton rebellion is the final nail in the coffin, devastating the region now called Ashlands.
A Shek named Kral beats a skeleton army, securing land and founding the Shek Kingdom.
The First Phoenix rallies oppressed humans and creates the Holy Nation.
The rest of organic populations congregate into the united Cities.
Tinfist abandons Cat-Lon, who retreats into the Ashlands and becomes mad with this betrayal. This marks the end of the SE.

When I was play kenshi, I decide to join tinfist's group and after that I make a deal with the rebel farm, to help me more because I was wanted for just kill a noble and destroy a slave camp, I didn't know what I was doing that day because I was never play before, then i just head in fort Simon, I read the book that told about Simon's family and everything.

Two or three days after I'm done all this... I make the united cities into a war zone and kill a bunch of rich people...all of them were just saying about that giant red hive, I forgot his name.
After I cause a clusterfuck, I just see an expedition group kill a bunch of starving bandits, because I want to make join my army I was using Recruitable Prisoners, and then I found something tell about my base as under attack, and then I see that giant red hive almost dead because my guards don't stop launch arrows in her group.
Yes, he became my soldier and leader of my 3º army that make the united cities cry...them me expedition group just make a new war against holy nation, I don't know what they have did, I just select to move from a location to other and pass an hour I see that they just murder an army of paladins. My group as around 30 people, yes, they have skeleton, but I didn't choose to make them fight, and I select a path to avoid any cities.

I always thought that Sheks where made to be brutes to use as easy controlable fighting force and Hivers are easy controlable and sustainable labor force.

One thing to note about the united cities northern empire. If you visit each city you can find evidence that they used to be much larger than before. Meaning the empire has beeen on decline for quite some time from forced slavery and enhanced recruitment drives. I always believed that, if your character doesn't intervene, the holy nation would destroy the empire eventually. I just can't understand how the holy nation is getting troops out of its own ass since their cities are significantly smaller and fewer than the empire. The farms seem to be few and far between as well.

Another curiosity on the theory of the Hivers being genetically engineered is the similarities with skin spiders with their similar skin tones and textures, I believe that skin spiders ar a failed experiment or something like that, maybe made by the Bugmaster on the search for the creation of the Hivers. Also, if this stuff about Hivers, Skin Spiders and Bugmaster were to be true, it would also add some depth to the hatred from the Sheks to the Bugmaster, with the Sheks seeking revenge against their creators if they were also another genetic experiment as the Hivers and the failed spiders.
