Quest Pro vs Quest 2: It’s No Match

@Cnet what about the Meta Quest Pro vs Microsoft's Halolens 2? I've been wanting the Halolens 2 but its still rediculously priced the basic model being more than twice as much that the quest pro, with the top version being priced around 6k.

One of the biggest problem for quest 2 for me is the resolution. The image is not sharp and its kind of unsatisfying when I use it for playing racing games where most of the time we need to look directly forward. Now I heard that Pro can track our eyes and increase the resolution of the screen where we focus looking on to create sharper image but i would love to see how sharp. I hope someone can provide a video to demo this feature

Tbh I believe even it’s not worth getting the quest 3 I’m gonna stick with quest 2 until quest 4 or until they stop updating it

Completely disagree. Have both headsets and the Quest pro is literally a puke fest with Binocular overlap so bad that I don't see one proper image out of it.

Rather wait for the Quest 3 in three months. For now I'm content with my HP Reverb G2 V2.

Sounds like to me , there is at most 200 bucks cost difference between these, but 1000 dollars price difference:)

1500 bucks, for 1 hour battery life and you can’t charge both controllers! Stupid, just a money maker. I will never purchase it.

I see these improvements on HTC and Oculus, but not nearly enough to worth switching from Vive Elite to any of them. I'm personally OK with 90Hz refresh rate and the ~2000x2000 per eye resolution; what I want the most is an increase in field of view degrees: at least 120 vertically and at least 150 horizontally. I know there are some mixed reality headsets that have higher FOV, but the best quality and highest compatibility with video games is offered by Meta, HTC and Valve, so I strongly believe it's best to stick with these 3 brands.

I cant believe they arent using Samsungs transparent display tech. Then the stuff in reality would be just like looking through clear glasses and the stuff in AR would be rendered in amazing detail :D

Way over priced when I returned mine for a £1500 refund in October 2022. I can get one now 6mths later with Meta full light blocker, Meta earphones and a power pack for £750 which a more realistic price with the extras so I may give the pro another go.

I recently had my first experience with VR - trying and playing game on the Quest 2. I loved it, i'll probably even get a VR headset, but I guess I'll wait & see what the Quest 3 is going to be about & compare it to the Pro, then I'll decide. But between the Q2 & the Pro .. definately the Pro is better and I would've payed extra to get it.

I don't like how you tried to compare a quest 2 with a £1500 quest pro. If someone wanted something around that price then they'd get themselves a Valve Index or something, if someone got a quest 2 it's a big chance they don't have the budget to get that. Instead of spreading the idea that people should upgrade from quest 2 to quest pro, instead they should be waiting for the quest 3 to come out. Honestly I don't know why you even made this video since they were made for relatively different things, quest pro for work and productivity and quest 2 for games, ect. The price range is so different there is no real reason to compare them. Looking through it, it looks like the quest 3 will use a different processer which will make it 2 fold the power of the quest 2. It will likely have pancake lenses to keep up with the competition so honestly just wait for the quest 3.

To be honest, I have Quest 2 and pro doesn't really make me like: "WOW, it's a huge difference!". I am still super happy about Quest 2 especially when we don't have super improved VR since the Quest 2 premiere.

You dont need to look at your phone anymore if u have an android device linked to your pc ...

I feel like the Quest 2 is horribly designed. They should NOT have made it LESS comfortable, less adjustable and all of those negatives just to upsell the Quest Pro. They can exclude the better display, better GPU and better processing power so that the Quest Pro has an edge, but to make a conscious product design to make the strap horrible, the lens have only 3 adjustable settings, no way to control how far the lens is from your eyes, these are all horrible product decisions.

I believe the Quest 4 Will be rechargeable It'll be better than with Changeable. It'll Be fun I'll find out., But That's My opinion.

I believe Quest 3 will be very similar if not an improved version of the Quest Pro. The pro was basically for early adopters. Meta announced they will no longer be making new pro devices and will focus on the normal Quest models. They also just lowered the pro price to $999. Quest 3 will most likely be $599 when it comes out later this year.

Geared towards productivity but the battery life is 1.5 hours then the controller takes 2 separate charges. No thanks.

If you’re using the pro for work you can only use it for 2 hours then you have to wait for it to charge again that’s ridiculous and completely defeats it’s purpose.

If you don’t have a pc for side quest games it’s not worth it.

As someone who has tried out almost every headset from the cv1 to the Varjo aero the meta quest pro honestly is not worth 1500

you should have mentioned while the quest 2 is 400$, you can get barely used 2nd hand ones for as low as 250$

I got an oculus quest 2 with a lot of effort working on the street selling sweets, I got it with a lot of hard work during 1 year of work, I just wanted one of these to study my information technology courses to try a job later. And you can get one of these easily. Since they are rich why not donate one of these......
