"computer graphics", "computer graphics", "computer graphics", "computer graphics", because we coudn't get a contract from sony, microsoft or nintendo to produce their GPU's.

Sony did reject the ray tracing gpu because it required game developers to work extremely hard on graphics that it may hinder videogame quality and quantity

yeah, because graphics rendered on 360/one/ps3/ps4/wii/wiiu hardware aren't computed (and thus computer graphics)

ATI's GPU's can make ray tracing too. It's just a program on top on the programmable GPU. ATI's and nVidia's GPU's has same API level. And has different only in operations speed, but not in possibilities. In 2006 I prefer ATI's GPU's, most for great research team and beautiful demos for new videocards. But for present time I still sit on GTX 670, for same reason. ATI wake up and give more research to us. And more beautiful demos of course. And return Ruby please. :)

nvidia dint want to put GPUs in the PS4 or XBone becouse they said that titan is already so much better that they dont want to put something in that is already out of date.

to be fair, everything can use raytracing.... it's a matter of performance when doing so. however, microsoft said producers can use the cloud to render some stuff. when the xboxone fanboys are lucky, they could get their raytracing done in the cloud.

The first we may see of this in games will probably be with cloud games rendered on super servers. That would be the way to go so we don't have to buy our own hardware. We could just pay a subscription. They would make a buttload and we would save a buttload at the same time. Everybody wins :) Well except for those of you who care about having hard copies of your games. you lose :)

i think i'll still get an amd card for my first total upgrade, it will serve me well for the next few years and then i'll think about getting a titan or something when more games start using this

They forgot to make some water droplets stick to the sides after splashing. Water adheres to glass after all.

hellow pepole think use this with the new direct x 12 and both of them are comeing to XBOX ONE so here comes a real next gen i want to see what PS4 gonna do simce they cant have DX12 since they work on a open gl. Dont gete wrong i like Sony but this was brilliant that Microsoft was planing this ahead. As an a graphical point now running a Nvidia softwear of an engin with DX12 on AMD video card .

@MrPeanutSmith
@MrPeanutSmith - 05.04.2014 07:20

Reason this is not being used in video games is imagine a shit load of explosives, animations, A.I, ray tracing and water simulation happening at the same time.

You will get 0 fps per second, this demo had all its resources going toward the ray tracing and water simulation, not all the other systems that a commercial video game has (scripts, explosions etc)
