Let's potentially burn a great industry buddy like Ola over a few imperfect frets that are over the body and don't really matter anyway and a 9V freakin battery, cause he doesn't get that Ola probably doesn't want to keep track of shipping restrictions to every country on earth. I'm profoundly disappointed in your click bait BS instead of being a professional and making sure you have a battery in your your guitar with an active pickup before you post a video. I'd rather not have my guitar shipped with a battery so I dont have do worry about corroded connections or just having a dead battery sitting in the gig bag on arrival.

Was there a "Batteri ingår ej" on the box? ["Battery Not Included"] in Swedish.
BTW: Try rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries. Works great in my actives, great battery life for my Fishman Fluence pickups.

I'm confused - why would you include a segment of what the guitar sounds like in guitar-reviews anyway, when they all sound the same regardless of pickups, wood and the rest? The finish, playability, buildquality and stuff are surely the interesting parts.

Ola said they dont ship any guitars with a battery because of regulations.

Batteries are problematic to ship, as they contain hazardous chemicals. But I agree that Solar could at least bestow a courtesy of informing you that batteries are not included, somewhere in the early stages of unpacking.

Could it be that they have had issues with shipping batteries? I know in europe we've been having a lot of issues whenever something with a battery ships.

The guy swaps speakers out of cabs to do videos but can't manage to swap a 9 volt out of another guitar, not a square to spare, interesting...

Ironically, I have the same problem, I ran out of 9v batteries. That's where I'm going right now for my Parker Fly.

Did it come through Europe or a UK distributer?? A lot of postal services over this side of the planet wont let you ship with batteries these days.

In my opinion, the biggest problem with Solar guitars is that you can only buy them through Thomann. Asked a friend of mine who owns a music store if he could get one (of the Evertune models) for me, but got told that they don't sell to small businesses. So yeah guess I keep on supporting him by buying Ibanez and Schecters, don't want to loose the smaller local stores.

For anyone shitting on Glen for the battery thing, may I kindly remind you that Harley Benton(Germany for the dummies in the comments) ships their guitars with the battery in them. I would know as I have one. And glen did a video of a couple HB guitars with actives that had the battery in them. So with Ola and where ever his guitars are shipped from (assuming sweden) under the EU standards i find it difficult to believe that they would be so hit and miss about a battery. Why not just ship with a alkaline battery for those preaching the lithium statement. HB does it.

On my solar, there is a QC stickers with initials on the back plate covering the electronic next to a sticker with the model name. And yeah, no batteries on my Vinter V1.6 and I didn't throw a tantrum

I have a solar that is honestly the perfect guitar, evertune, fishman, jumbo stainless, sexy AF. The wiring though, has been a shitshow. I've had to fix multiple shorts in the jack and pots. At first the sound was trebly, then it would cut out, then the battery would drain while unplugged... freaking nightmare.

Eh. Dude. Gonna say it again. Tuned guitar out of the box should be a tall order. It's convenient, but my understanding is that the guitar should be dropped a fifth or so for freight to be on the safe side. The battery, well, maybe not, not preinstalled anyway.

But mybe reconsider where the frets wew nibby: your hand is probably not going to touch it because the body gets in the way.

I agree with whoever said you should maybe do this review over.

All Solars state on the website that they don’t come with a battery. It actually surprised me too initially but, no biggie
