150fps+ In Microsoft Flight Simulator - RTX 4090 Thoughts On DLSS 3.0

for some reason i dont have some of the options in my settings like DLSS or DirectX.

Why does MS Flight Simulator always have these weird like stutters? Like you are flying and suddenly the whole game goes into slow motion for a half second and then continues to work well? Why does that happen? Is it loading data from the hard drive or what is causing that?

Thank you for this very insightful video. How is your experience at busy airports such as KJFK or EGLL, using third party airport addons, and using FSLTL with, e.g., 100 active IFR aircraft? Will MSI Afterburner with Frame Generation set to ON still show at least 60 FPS (maybe capped through V-Sync at 60 FPS)?

I bought a 4070. Despite being no where as powerful as the 4090 its is the best investment I have made for this sim along with the 5800X3D! I had an AMD GPU and that was problematic with X-PLANE 12. I'll be sticking with Nvidia moving forward!

How is your experience with DLSS 3.0 and moving objects in the Sim, i.e. air traffic, airport vehicles, road traffic, ships? These place a heavy burden on the Sim, but how does the RTX 4090 handle it?

The thing I found that helps the most is turn that lens flare BS off. I'm looking at a 4090 myself, but I want the best 4090 money can buy though.

I was having a nosey around in the fs- base folder yesterday, and an astonishing amount of stuff is still used or is hanging around from FsW, Fs9 etc. Really interesting how they have developed this engine since way back with MSFS 2002? Maybe 2000, but 2002 was the sim with the biggest leaps and bounds and much of that same DNA lives on in MSFS2020. Fascinating really.

Will the 4090 be good with a 10700kf processor at 1080p (on 3 monitors)? Z490 mobo. Any issues?

I am not getting nearly the FPS you are. I have a Strix 4090, I9-13900K, 32 gigs of corsair vengeance ram @5600mhz, a Strix 690E MB and a 1000watt PSU. Over NYC I get 30-50 FPS and my latency is mid 30s

I have a 3090. Why do I need 150 FPS (1/3rd of them, fake frames) on a 60Hz, 4K monitor on a flight simulator? Seems like the 4090 is just a bloated way for NVIDIA to get more money from me. I am staying with my 3090!

How do you get 150 fps thats not possible i have a 4090 and a 9500 x12 Ryzen and i get 50 fps with everything on high to low only Fstl with 30 traffic is set in game only building szenery out of coclpit is on ultra objects on 100 terain lod 150 and still 50 fps what else must i buy to have a stable simulator im so fed up now

I have 4090 and use Dlss 3 and frame generation to achieve around 70fps on ultra 4k. Today I disabled frame generation, and the quality was excellent. My conclusion is DLSS 3 is more quantity than quality. In red dead redemption, it gives better improvements and performance compared to msfs.

Lots of micro stuttering despite the high frame rate, very jarring.

60+ FPS at JFK with frame generation. It looks like I will need an RTX 5090 for MSFS 2020 at 4K to rule out micro-stutter and 120Hz. I hope the Intel i7 13700K refresh coming in ~ August will be enough (Don't want to buy a new motherboard).

I wasn't going to get the 4090. My system is a year old, all white, stunning looking with a 3090, and cost shy of 8K. BUT ... I had a chance to buy a white 4090 last week and couldn't help myself. I bought one and don't regret it at all. Stupid money for sure, but what can I say.

How do you get such good telemetry? Fast internet speed?

I just installed a RTX 4090 as well, but in MS Flightsim it shows 0 to 1% usage?! CPU is a i7-11700K, so not the slowest too... The monitor shows really high FPS, but the actual picture is stuttering heavily, especially over cities.. Any tipps of how to improve?

Did not watch because it is pointless. The human eye can only differentiate 30 to 60 frames per second. Anything more is a waste given similar image quality.

Little question; Is my internet speed (approx. 93 Mbps/sec) sufficient for a result (visual/fps) similar to yours? THANKS!

Next year is the best time to buy a laptop with 3nm cpu and gpu. Amd 8040 cpu and Nvidia 5080 will be fast enough to play this at 4k with zero stutter

A lot of movies show DLSS 3 and the frame boost it generates. Unfortunately, no one talks about the issues with DX12, DLSS 3, and Nvidia Frame Generation. When using aircraft such as the Fenix A320, PMDG 737, or even the JPLogistic Cessna 152, the scenery textures fall apart, particularly at airports. Fenix's technical support made it clear that they are aware of the issue, but it is due to DX12 (beta) and DLSS 3. I believe they are right about this. Additionally, DLSS 3's sharpness is far from what we get with TAA.

Am a fan of MSFS, but although I treated myself to a 4090 retirement gift now I am sadly aware that my i9 9900 is the bottleneck. Of course that cpu has a different socket, so upgrade requires new motherboard.... sigh it was ever thus...

If you have the same framerates at great airports than I'm impressed...

If your monitor supports 4096x2160, change the resolution on the game to that, and the graphics will look even better with true 4K.

when you get a sponsored video, you are not supposed to see gimmicks :) nice one....
the artifacts are pretty noticeable and you have to be blind to not see them. msfs is pretty slow pace when you are doing actual normal flight so static images dont change as much. the artifacts become obvious when you are fast moving around multiple objects. flight low in NY using cockpit, and lets talk again. do f1 game, .

I can't wait until they update the card in future to a quarter of the size for less than 200, requiring under 100W and half a fan

I mean, you don't need nor can appreciate anything above 30ish fps tops.
And lows of 24 fps.

With the ever-rising cost of energy in the UK, I'm priced out of the higher-end GPUs even before the price of buying the thing comes into the equation. I simply cannot afford to game with high-end gear. I have to go with lower-end or mid-range gear that gets the most bang for it's buck.

With that said, DLSS3 looks just the ticket for MSFS, and I'm seriously considering upgrading to maybe a 4060 from my current 3070 (pending reviews and benchmarks of course).

I would not especially care if every other game saw very little improvement on a 4060 over my 3070. All I would really care about would be what DLSS3 did for performance in MSFS, both pancake and in VR. If a 4060 or 4060Ti could give me perhaps double the fps in MSFS using DLSS3, and could do it for minimal, if any, extra power draw than my 3070 currently is sucking, then I'm in.

DLSS 3 could work on 3000 series if NVIDIA could take care about theirs customers.... bye bye, I've sold my 3080 and I have bought a 7900XTX. I don't want to buy a 4080 and DLSS 4 will only works on 5000 series in the future... FSR works on all generation of AMD.

I saw comment review on BestBuy for a $5000 gaming laptop, first of all that person is a moron. He got ripped off. I don't remember what the graphics card was but it was identical to RTX 4070 I believe. Maybe slightly better, eitherway it only had 2TB SSD and 32GB Ram. On me you can build a similar setup for $2600 with extras adding up to $3400. That mf got ripped off by over $1600.

I do still wish things would be a bit better eg bridges, water levels and such. I know it's asking a lot and i do think the game is beautiful.
