Honest Review of The Sims 4: Horse Ranch

my ranchman keeps making white cakes. like everyday multiple times a day and if something shows up for him to do he’ll stop it and leave it out and then start another one fresh when he’s free? once or twice he made this sugar free something cake but 90% white cakes in my fridge before i just started throwing them away. and it’s been like 4 months so i sorta expected this glitch to be gone? otherwise love the pack.

Just got this pack on sale yesterday and I’m sooo excited to play ☺️

How much reading overall is required for this game? Can it be played by people just starting to learn how to read?

Only think I could comment is Cottage Living and Horse Ranch are two different spectrums to country life. Cottage Living is more quiet town, rural Wales/England sort of vibes, while Horse Ranch is more American, big ranches much space sort of vibe. I love that, despite both being animal packs, all about country life, we see a diversity in country living!

i hink the coolist thing about this pack is si that there is a dead horse we sadly cant interract with it but its cool to see

i feel like all the gals in town having the same hair checks out— it’s giving small town where linda’s the only hairstylist and only knows two cuts

Kinda disappointed rlly wanted some good English rider clothes as that’s the type of rider I am irl, honestly the clothes are just awful in general thank god for cc

Edit: As someone who enjoys the gardening feature of the Sims. The poop thing is an interesting feature. Also, I totally get it. I love new death types as well. It's a hilarious part of playing the sims.

I'm a former equestrian (competitive Dressage) with friends at my barn who barrel raced and did jumping. Bought this recently and must say that I'm pretty disgusted. First off, barrel racing is a clover not going in one big circle around a barrel at each end, so huge points off for that lame brain programming. Jumping...haven't gotten there yet, but if the barrels are anything to go by I'm not looking forward to it. Also, being a "spectator" and not being able to go inside the big stadium....jeezus h....how hard is it to add a cut film to make you feel like you ARE watching something for gosh sakes?!? Not impressed and am regretting this purchase already.

How do YOU get to play with "Horse Ranch", and I DON'T?!!!!! I paid for it, and tried to download it, BUT IT WON'T!! It's always in the state of "preparing", but NEVER DOES!!!@

I have to disagree heavily about your review.
Comparing it with Sims 3 Pets, we again got a whole lot less content. Again I need another Pack (Cottage Living) to get the whole experience and I am done with it. That some mechanics take longer because they are so complicated is no excuse for putting them in another pack and charge the the same amount of money.

Right now you pay for Cottage Living + Horse Ranch + Dogs and Cats = 120$
Comparing it to Sims 3 Pets + World Adventures = 80$ (when it came out) and these 2 have still far more content than the 3 Sims 4 packs.

Baldurs Gate 3 is an RPG I can spent hundreds of hours in without even thinking to create a new character and only costs me 60$.
On the other hand Sims 4 on which I spent over a 1000$ and after 60 minutes playing a new pack I think: "Hm Sims 3 did it better"

I am really sorry but sadly, your review just shows how forgiving the Sims Community became and why EA keeps ripping Content away for the same price.
At this point I am done with Sims 4. It is sad because I loved the franchise, but as hard as it is to say, I can´t even blame EA for it.
It is the community, which buys anything EA presents them and keeps saying: "Think about the devs, they tried so hard, we need to appreciate that."

I am Horse obsessed and i love this pack SO MUCH❤

Its so laggy on console..It's almost like $40 just for lag, it makes gameplay impossible.. :(

i’m a little disappointed that the horses are added to the family. bc then you cant really breed the horses if you want to have a large family. you can really only stick to maybe 3 horses if you want a 5 person family etc. i wish they were more like the sheep where they can still roam around everywhere and still be able to interact a good bit with them and ride them. or they could’ve expanded the household number as a base game update.

Whole lot of "i wish they would have...." in the comments. And i want to say that, well they did not. They did not add that obvious thing that wouls have made it better

As a fellow horse girl it is truly difficult to find games that feature horses, especially since most that you do find cough assassins creed cough portray them as mindless vehicles.

I'd say the breeding genetics IS a huge deal. That is incredibly disappointing. It's SIMS - they couldn't put in just a little more effort?
