Mastering 4-Level Map Drill Downs in Tableau

This is great but there is no way tableau couldn’t make this easier with hierarchy level built in. The fact you need 20 Different formulas to do this is very hard to maintain and scale.

I am trying to make a dashboard for work where i need the drill downs to go like State, County, State Senate district, House district, Municipality, Zip Code and Census Tracts. The first issue I'm facing is that a lot of it is not recognized by Tableau. For example, I am using the ACS 2020 census tracts however Tableau does not recognize census tracts. Any advice on how to go about this? If I use Shapefiles, it works well for 1 geography but messes up the other ones.

Thanks @Andy Kriebel. Is there a way to disable multi selection in maps? Because this kind of killed it. I tested it in tableau public and it showed the same result. If it would work with multiple selections it would be also nice. Are there ways to achieve this?

Hi Andy. Just wondering how you would deal with everything going blank if the user drills down to the Sales by City viz and then clicks twice on something that isn't a city? Even the undo function doesn't seem to revert things?

Hi, i am getting stuck at 7.07. After i click on dzv it works for region, and county, but then the top map goes blank when i click dgv state, so it's not changing to vols by county, can you help?

Hello Andy, I am facing the issue in Map drill functionality. I have built it for 2 levels - State and City. The very first time, my map sometimes gets washes out and then I need to put a City in City parameter.
Then if I am selecting the state, the state completely washes out and the City map appears after removing the City from City parameter.

Please help me how to resolve this.

Hi Andy, I wanted to achieve a multi-select drill down with DZV by using sets but unfortunately set booleans (true or false) are not captured as a Boolean which you can set from Control Visibility. My idea was to create an empty set and when one or more values were selected from the first sheet, the set would become true, and 1st level would be hidden because I was going to set "SET=FALSE" for its visibility. There is an old method still to achieve that by using 2 axis for Latitude but I still want to build something with DZV. That could be a nice video topic :)

Is possible to make with shapes, because in other parts of the world, the maps of tableau doesn´t recognize more than two levels. for example state and county.

Hello. Can you give me additional advice?
I downloaded a Tableau Workbook, but after opened it in Tableau Desktop I have a message (aspecially if I go to the Data Source tab):
Unable to complete action
There was a problem connecting to the data source "US Cities".

I don't have a database US Cities.. How can I download this file ("US Cities") from the Tableau Publick?
P.S. Maybe you record some video about how to download original file (database) from the tableau public...
P.P.S. Sorry for this type of question, but i struggle with it and can't repeat each step from your nice video lessons... (due to luck of knowladge how to get original file from Tableau... 😪
