For anyone who is considering Alex's EDM Bootcamp, it's well worth it! The classes are very clear and very easy to understand! The fact that I can send my song to his personal slack group and get feedback from him on my song is fantastic! I can already see real improvement. Thanks, Alex!
ОтветитьDo you have mix classes?
ОтветитьGreat info, thanks!

ОтветитьAlex, thanks for such a great video. I'm quite confused with your vocoder side chain trick. Did you apply it on chords and they are only playing when vocals plays? Can you please explain the whole process? Thank you
ОтветитьMaybe this is how illenium created lead for his song called fragments! Amazing work Alex thanks for teaching me cool stuff
ОтветитьI kiss your heart for sharing your wisdom man <3
ОтветитьAmazing things to lear! Thanks so much!!
ОтветитьWhat software is this?
ОтветитьCost for tutorial?
ОтветитьAmazing men, amazing, thank you ❤
ОтветитьI just do this kinda stuff for fun but I love these tricks, have used a couple like reverse reverb and creating a basically instrument sound with other sounds using synths or what have you, but have used some of your other tutorials in the past. Love the channel dude and your positive attitude and concise explanations.
ОтветитьAlex, thank you. This stuff is fascinating to me as someone who isn't particularly interested in EDM, but IS into sound design in the music I'm writing. Yes - a couple of the ideas here are really pretty. Thumbs-up and subscribed.
ОтветитьThanks Alex for such a great video, very helpful and informative. Quick question. For that trick with Vocalsynth, which version of Vocal Synth do you use. Does VocalSynth 2 have that option for side chaining or we're talking about Pro version? Thank you
ОтветитьThis is actual gold
ОтветитьSometimes he sounds like 💅

Ответитьbro, hats off to you for not making the same ol tutorial videos on music production that we've seen a million times already.. your videos are valuable & straight to the point.. you sir, are indispensable.. thank you
ОтветитьAnd this is why I hate edm… some of the most basic sound design I’ve ever heard.
The best way to go about sound design is honestly finding a really good synthesizer, and then just practicing the hell out of it until you get really good at making sounds.
Great techniques, Alex. Also, that soft piano from LABS is SO sexy!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing!! I was wishing for something a bit more new although these tricks are timeless and work wonders.
ОтветитьI thought this video was going to be synthesizer sound design. Never thought about sound design in a DAW, but then I realized I was doing this DAW sound design in my computerless recording studio on a sampler. And YES, layering solves problems and adds great unique sounds, but then I have been doing this for over 55 years with instruments that allowed layering. I have little use for synths that cannot layer, never going to find a unique sound using a conventional synth, but I did buy 3 analog synths that can't layer just to input my synth sound design into my sampler, then layer up these sounds in the sampler, then play the sound from the time-stretched/pitch shifted sampler.
Layering is so powerful, I hear one reviewer after the next complaining about a drum sound from a workstation synth, for example, and instead of simply adding a layer to the drum, they return the synth to the retailer and go off looking for another unicorn synth. People seem to expect the sound they hear in polished pro recordings of top musicians to sound the same on the instrument they buy, yet they have no musician skills, no recording engineering skills, no critical listening skills, no understanding of recording studio devices, no concept of monitoring and room acoustics. It is like listening to people complain about their computers...."why are these so difficult to use"....because they are computers and you have to learn to use them, it is a SKILL.
Today everyone thinks someone else's job is easy and simple, but their own job is some super high level degree of skill that no one else can do. Where did this arrogance come from? ALL professions that produce great works have pro's with high levels of skill and experience. That is just the way the world is, so if you're a musician and think you're just going to press record and get identical results from the commercial music you listen to.....think again...use your brain...and buckle up for a decade of learning...just to get started.
*COMPUTERS:
I don't use computers to record and produce music, my studio is 100% hardware including the 24 track recorder. I have many computers for my graphic design business though; and have used computers for my graphic designs since the mid 1980's with main frames costing $250,000.00. Then later with MACS in the early 90's. Today I use PCs and MACs, repair and maintain my own and my clients' computers.
Sounds great man !
